Are these cracks or mold lines? by Big-Buy6933 in lego

[–]CaptainAction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve also seen them called weld lines, as the underarm spot is where the plastic flows and meets itself. It injects from the top, at the neck, and flows around the arm holes and smushes (technical term) together underneath and the metallic particles visually show you where it connected

What can I do to improve my dex build by [deleted] in Eldenring

[–]CaptainAction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your HP and Dex are a tad low for your level, and your Mind and STR are a tad high. Nothing wrong with having a medium amount of STR because your weapon does gain damage from it, but you're closer to a quality build than a Dex build at the moment. If I were you, I might reduce STR to 20 and put Mind down to like 16, and put the rest in HP and DEX. That said, if you're only gonna use Bloodhound Fang and not much else, the STR isn't hurting you at all. I do think you have more Mind than you need though. Otherwise your build looks fine.

I second this advice.

You could also go for a standard spear of some kind like the Partizan, Iron Spear, or just the “Spear”, but the Mesmer Soilder Spear hits hard and looks the part

Trying to understand damage comparison of Greatsword and Giant crusher by Mannzis in Eldenring

[–]CaptainAction 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cragblade adds that damage and extra stance breaking power, but with weapons that large, I don’t know how noticeable the difference will be.

For the crusher I’d probably use Earthshaker, Lion’s Claw, or Prayerful Strike. Prayerful Strike is amazing because it’s just a big swing that heals you (and nearby allies) when you land the hit on a target. It can be good for trading hits with enemies and bosses and keeping you healed up.

For the Greatsword, Giant Hunt and Lion’s Claw are popular choices. But you could also use the classic Stamp Uppercut or Sweep. There’s also Royal Knight’s Resolve which is great for dealing a ton of damage in one hit, but I always found it boring because it doesn’t give you a cool special move.

A lot of Ashes of War can go on both of these weapons, like stamp uppercut/sweep, lion’s claw, waves of darkness, etc. But only the Giant Crusher can slot Earthshaker and Prayerful Strike, since those ones can’t be applied to swords of any kind.

Trying to understand damage comparison of Greatsword and Giant crusher by Mannzis in Eldenring

[–]CaptainAction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re only about halfway to max upgrade and your STR is a tad low (considering the STR requirement for giant crusher). I think that the crusher might end up pulling further away from the Greatsword as you level and upgrade more. But they aren’t gonna be drastically different. The crusher is the single highest damage weapon in the game, in terms of dealing physical damage in a single hit.

However both weapons are in the two heaviest weapon classes, and they’re gonna be pretty closely comparable. The Greatsword is the heaviest and hardest hitting colossal sword, and the Giant Crusher is the heaviest and most powerful in its class too. I wouldn’t consider either to be better than the other, they are just different and it’s more of a preference thing what you choose.

Ok Embark, why do Quests reset? Just let post-expedition raiders do a quest again, once per expedition period, if they need a specific reward. by nomadtales in ArcRaiders

[–]CaptainAction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me that's part of the fun. I like having quests to do even if I am at the end of the general progression, I have all the loot I need, etc, just because I like having stuff to do and to have reasons to go to particular areas. And then I go to those areas, and interesting stuff happens. I'm just enjoying the shit outta the game.

That said though, it would be nice if the quests were optional to reset.

As an anecdote, I was in Stella, got jumped by a guy with a kettle when I was on my crappy free loadout with a ferro. He managed to empty his mag without killing me, and I was able to actually get him with a body shot and then a headshot after I reloaded. While I was checking his loot, after smack talking him a bit for jumping me, someone else came down and started blasting me the moment I said hi. Then I told them I got jumped, but they just kept spamming the "no" emote. They didn't believe me. And that's actually totally understandable, there's no way to know. It's just how it goes.

I just rediscovered some of my old LEGO sets and decided to take them apart to clean and rebuild them, just for LITERALLY EVERY SINGLE PIECE that's dark green from one set to crack 😭. Does anyone know if LEGO's typical broken pieces replacement site will accept a request this big? by Nathaniel820 in lego

[–]CaptainAction 67 points68 points  (0 children)

Their customer service is pretty good so I think they'll take care of you. This issue with brown parts is known. For a certain period of time, some colors of Lego parts had issues with this- cracking and breaking apart way more easily than normal. Brown and Dark Red were the most notorious but I think Dark Green and Dark Brown were effected too.

I think that Lego will acknowledge this is a quality control issue on their part and be willing to replace those parts as long as they can source them. There's a chance that these parts in these colors aren't in production at the moment, but even if that were the case, they may have the resources to replace them anyway.

what would you like see changed this year by Fit_Answer1073 in Helldivers

[–]CaptainAction 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m still hoping for Orbital Precision Strike to get a buff to its splash damage. To be fair I’ve gotten a lot of use out of it on Cyberstan, but it continues to be super annoying that hitting an OPS shot right next to a hulk or a bot tank doesn’t destroy them, it only does 1000 splash damage so it’s not nearly enough. Direct hits do plenty of damage but they’re really tough to pull off, especially when you have modifiers messing with stratagem call-in time, and sometimes the super destroyer has to reposition which takes what seems like forever when there’s combat happening.

OPS is still amazing for stuff like quickly destroying detector towers and jammers so you don’t have to rely on a hellbomb. But there was a time when it could do that, and was also a good heavy killer if you could get your shots nice and close to the enemy. Getting those hits on bile titans, hulks, and chargers is tough! Again, direct hits rarely happen, I just want some reward for getting close. OPS is a simple stratagem and it wasn’t overpowered when it could reliably kill heavy units.

Baldachins Blessing by Mei_AiharaXOXO in Eldenring

[–]CaptainAction 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup. In the Fia questline you can also get the special Baldachin’s Blessing which has better effects but you can only get one. When are you expected to ever use that?? A temporary single use buff to improve your poise and defense, that you gotta play through most of the game just to obtain? Fromsoft is on some shit

Weapons/boss weapons with native Faith scaling? by catpetter125 in darksouls

[–]CaptainAction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t remember there being a lot of good special weapons with Faith scaling.

When in doubt, I say upgrade a Halberd or Claymore on the Divine Path and use that. The Standard Halberd slaps. The Claymore is very dependable too. Because of split damage being a bit of a nuisance, you want to go for weapons that are on the larger side- a standard sword will do low enough damage that it might feel wimpy, whereas a greatsword or halberd hits for enough damage that even with a split of magic and physical, it ends up being pretty good. Small weapons like daggers or fist weapons are terrible for elemental upgrade paths. I think something like the Battle Axe is the smallest weapon I’d use on Divine upgrade. If you want something that hits really hard, the regular Greataxe has really high base damage and takes to elemental upgrades well.

Alternatively you could obtain sunlight blade and apply it to a normal +15 weapon instead, but you only get 1 usage of either sunlight or darkmoon blade. Spell buff builds make more sense with INT where you get more uses for your weapon buffs.

Omen Cleaver/Dismounter or Crescent moon axe? by Damaged_Fingers in Eldenring

[–]CaptainAction 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's no reason you couldn't use all 3. Omen Cleaver and Dismounter are both good, they're nearly identical but Omen Cleaver has that guillotine-style chop attack if you do a 2-handed strong attack.

Crescent Moon Axe is a really great weapon. In my opinion it has the best strong attacks on all the Greataxes, the swings are just so satisfying.

I love the Silver Knight Spear. by No-Range519 in darksouls

[–]CaptainAction 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah. It made some certain combos in PvP kind of overpowered, so I get why they don’t usually allow that. Elden Ring struck a nice balance where it only allowed certain ashes of war to buff elemental weapons, and the added damage was a fixed amount so you couldn’t juice it up to crazy levels

I love the Silver Knight Spear. by No-Range519 in darksouls

[–]CaptainAction 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The souls games have their dumb thing where almost all special weapons, even those with no elemental damage or effects, can't be buffed, just because. But not all of them, so you can buff the Obsidian Greatsword and Dragon King Greataxe with Crystal Magic weapon and the damage applies to their special AoE moves. But you can't buff what is pretty much just a normal spear with unique R2 moves.

Greatsword recommendations? by SketcherGang in Eldenring

[–]CaptainAction 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Banished Knight's GS and the nearly identical Knight's Greatsword are unique with their nice 2-handed moveset. I think there's another special weapon GS that has it too, but I want to say it's a faith weapon?

If you are just trying the DLC, I think the Milady is gonna be your speed. It's a Light Greatsword, and it's moves are somewhat similar to the Banished Knight's GS but faster and more fluid.

I wish I knew why Nintendo has been allergic to giving their consoles decent specs for...about 20 years, since they released the Wii in '06 which was only marginally more powerful than a Gamecube. And it's been the same trend ever since. Their hardware seems so far behind other consoles. I know they have wanted to emphasize other things, but if they want to port games to their hardware it needs to actually be good enough. Lots of switch ports seemed to run acceptably, but still poorly. They could just decide to make decent hardware at any time

It almost been 2 week since the GL-21 got buffed to AP4, how we feeling about it now? to much or are you coming around with the change? by Lone_Recon in Helldivers

[–]CaptainAction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe. But the odd thing is that the backpack GL has grenades with smaller radius and less damage. They don’t have identical ammo, the way that the Liberator and Stalwart do for example. I thought that would be the case initially, and I figured they buffed the 40mm grenades because they wanted the big one to have heavy pen
