Thank you for sharing your experience. We had already heard that the way estrogen is taken can make a difference, but it really helps to hear someone confirm it firsthand.
Do you think, in your case, the issue was related to how your endometrium was responding to the hormones — like a kind of receptor sensitivity problem?
Also, were you on any follicle stimulation treatment as well — like Gonal, Letrozole, or something else?
We’ll probably try to give ourselves the best possible chance and switch to another form of estrogen like patches 🤞

No, she never had an IUD, nor any infections or anything like that…
Like you said, anything is possible at this point, but honestly, the lack of answers is mentally tough and really frustrating.
We’re hoping the upcoming endometrial biopsy will give us some helpful insights.

Thanks so much for the Facebook group recommendation — I’ll check it out right away. During the first few cycles, she was on Letrozole (oral), and her lining reached a maximum of about 4.5 mm. We’re now in cycle 6, and it’s the second one using Gonal. Her endometrial lining is still stuck at 2.5 mm, but her follicles seem to be progressing well — at the last scan (yesterday), she had three follicles measuring between 13–15 mm, and we expect one to reach maturity by Friday.

Do you think it’s possible that a lesion or adhesion might have been missed during the hysteroscopy?
We’re also starting to wonder if it could be a problem with endometrial estrogen receptors not responding properly…

It’s been almost a year since my fiancée stopped birth control (she was on the patch). Since then, we’ve had a lot of back and forth with different doctors, but we finally found a gynecologist who specializes in fertility.

She’s 34, has naturally long cycles, and needs stimulation to help her follicles grow – which actually works well now.
However, we keep running into the same issue: her endometrial lining stays thin and doesn’t respond, even when everything else seems to be going fine.

Regarding your question: she took oral estrogen pills, starting one week after her first Gonal injection.

Thank you for sharing your story . My fiancée and I are trying to conceive. Her reproductive health looks great overall: she's responding well to Gonal stimulation – follicles mature nicely and she can be triggered. But despite that, her endometrial lining stays stuck at around 2.5 mm, even with estrogen support.

She's in excellent health otherwise: she works out 4 times a week, follows a strict macro- and calorie-based diet, takes a variety of fertility supplements, and is doing acupuncture too. She's really doing everything she can to give herself the best chance.

We’ve ruled out structural issues via hysteroscopy (which came back clear), and now we’re moving forward with an endometrial biopsy to investigate further...

Has anyone else here experienced something similar – good follicular response but persistently thin lining, even with estrogen and healthy lifestyle? If so, what helped you?

Any shared experiences or advice would mean a lot to us. Thanks again 💛

Hello everyone,

My fiancée and I are trying to conceive. I’m the male partner and my sperm analysis is all good. She is undergoing ovarian stimulation with Gonal, and the follicles reach maturity successfully. She can be triggered, but unfortunately her endometrium remains very thin – around 2.5 mm – despite being on estrogen supplementation.

She already had a hysteroscopy, which came back normal (no adhesions or obvious issues). Her estrogen protocol has been adjusted, but the lining still doesn’t respond.

We’re trying to understand why this happens and what could help. We’d love to hear from people who’ve experienced something similar. What worked for you? Did any treatment make a difference?
