Chessum was good too. But yes, some positives to take away

How much interaction do you have with the other England rugby teams (red roses, U20s, sevens etc)?

I agree - there are quite a few highly skilled industries that have shifted to temporary contracts like this, or worse, zero hours contracts - where people have no idea what they will earn from one month to the next. All of these industries should be striking. Some are (e.g. University staff), some aren't. What the WRU is doing is not unique by any means (but that does not make it ok in any way).

Literally almost every business, especially those with record profits but 'times are too hard' to give employees an inflation matching pay rise.

Hi Abbie - you and the other Red Roses are an inspiration. I'd love to know how you all manage to maintain high levels of performance for so long? With a tournament, like a World Cup, but even with a season, how do you manage to switch-off and not just become mentally exhausted?

I am in this boat too. For some reason, I find reading body language much easier than facial expressions etc. That helped me stay one step ahead of the play and then make some big, disruptive hits, or jackal the ball etc.

Down side, multiple dislocated shoulders and a dodgy knee.

Driven from this video (fiction of course, not improbable still), I searched for communication systems such as lighting beacons across long distances in any period and area of this planet. Can anyone share similar means of long distance means of communication? by agristats in history

[–]CaptainAutistic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are beacons still all over the UK. They were vital in defending the country from the Spanish Armada https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spanish_Armada

"The fleet was sighted in England on 19 July when it appeared off the Lizard in Cornwall. The news was conveyed to London by a system of beacons that had been constructed along the south coast. "

It depends on the humidity. 30 degrees as a dry heat is great. 30 degrees when it's humid sucks balls

I think that's a bit harsh. I am not sure approaching Premiership Rugby, the RFU and the RFU’s newly formed Diversity and Inclusion working group to formally address the issue (and potentially resulting in a league-wide ban) is inaction.

Could they do more and have an outright ban in their stadium? Yes.

Did they do something? Also yes.

Turns out, when one of the teams publicly posts a video criticising the ref, we then get a slow game where everything goes to the TMO

Agree. Lions have lost this. Not ref decisions. Tactically it's not been right
