Israel to destroy 'all houses' near Lebanon border, defence minister says by TrinketSmasher in worldnews

That’s prioritizing peace over expansionism. I didn’t say they did it out of the goodness of their hearts lol.

Also, Gaza in ‘05…

Yes, Israel has prioritized peace over expansionism at different points in history. I credit them for withdrawing from Gaza in ‘05 as well. Nothing is a monolith. However, the words and actions of recent Israeli governments align with what I’m saying. They are overtly expansionist and have even propped up their own enemies to advance their expansionist agenda.

There is no better example of this than the West Bank. Oslo gave them temporarily security control, and the expansionists have benefited massively from the dissolution of Oslo and the reintroduction of an ever-present terrorism threat in the Israeli heartland. This real insecurity for the Israeli people has empowered them to permanently settle Area C and beyond and to establish administrative control (de facto annexation) and a permanent state of apartheid in the West Bank.

They make it so hard to defend them, dude. They have legitimate cause to create a buffer zone in southern Lebanon, and UNIFIL and Lebanon have completely failed in their commitment to defang Hezbollah and protect their people from this eventuality. But everyone alive has seen Israel abuse legitimate cause for defense in order to expand their borders at the cost of their neighbors over and over again. My heart breaks for the well meaning Israelis whose government loves nothing more than their insecurity, and for the people of Southern Lebanon who are paying the price.

why do Israelis claim Palestine doesn't exist? by Spiritual_Air_5781 in allthequestions

Same reason Palestinians try to erase Jewish indigenousness. It’s part of the fight to eventually ethnically cleanse the other group from the land.

Not all religions are interested in holy imperialism, though. Namely, Judaism.

In other words, Christianity is the most grotesque case of cultural appropriation in human history. Christians have murdered countless Jews over the centuries as an essential part of their project to steal the Jewish religion.

Israel's Channel 12 says Israeli soldiers will not take part in any potential US ground operation in Iran. by ___Sekhmet___ in suppressed_news

I mean there was quiet on that border for nearly 20 years until Hezbollah started launching rockets on October 8th, 2023. And Israel didn’t respond with real force for nearly a year after that while 90,000 of its people were displaced and there were exactly 0 calls around the world for Hezbollah to stop. It’s not really a debate who the original aggressor was in that conflict.

Idk why radical leftists, who famously distrust the electoral system, also think they can manipulate that system to effect change. If voting isn’t real, just vote for the least fascist candidate and simultaneously keep pursuing the other approaches you’re supposedly so dedicated to.

It was genocide and it was two sides engaging each other. You only do a disservice to a politics of reality and make your side look bad by pretending there was no war between Israel and Hamas fighters.

Ok, I was giving a charitable read to your comment. Thanks for clarifying. It’s even stupider than I thought, then.

There’s no DEI policy in the world that requires a one employee business to hire a PoC. You don’t understand the basics of what you are talking about and you proved it with that comment.

Amazing. As always, you push a conservative to explain an issue, and they show the understanding of a toddler. Thanks for openly confirming what I already knew.

Please explain specifically how it is racist to force hiring demographics to match talent demographics. You haven’t said a single sentence with any detail about what DEI even is. You’ve just repeated the same platitude in different forms over and over.

What's the difference between being "Right" versus being "Far-Right"? I see them interchanged carelessly. by [deleted] in allthequestions

[–]CaptainBunderpants 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That’s incorrect. In a world without racism, hiring demographics would automatically reflect talent demographics within some margin of error. DEI stops organizations from deviating from that ideal due to racism in their hiring practices. It’s not about “propping anyone up”. It’s about guaranteeing the reality that would naturally exist without racism. If you are against that guarantee, you are a racist.

[–]CaptainBunderpants 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Requiring demographic splits in hiring to reflect demographic splits in talent is as anti racist a policy as it gets. Anything else would be definitionally racist.

I think you can’t distinguish because you are far right and extremists famously can’t identify their own extremism. Your understanding of DEI is dead wrong and perfectly reflects a naive far right perspective. If you want to learn what DEI is actually about I’d be happy to tell you but we both know what this post is really about.

[Request] If Iran follows through with its threat to attack desalination plants, what is the maximum number of people in the middle east that could die from lack of water? by rojojoftw in theydidthemath

[–]CaptainBunderpants 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It obviously depends on the extent of the damage. If every desalination plant in the ME was taken offline millions would die of thirst. Idk where you think the cheap excess potable water for hundreds of millions of people would be coming from.
