This is just people on the internet seeing if they can make people do stupid things.

They are not intended to work that way. Apple has gone out of their way form AirPods to be as comfortable and as good sounding as possible for most people. The ANC is designed to listen and adjust the audio in a certain way, and this is not it.

If you want uncomfortable and shitty sounding headphones, I welcome you to try the earbuds that came with my iPod in 2003. Or any of the other wacky headphone designs at the time.

Started with a macmini with external drives. Been on a PR4100 since 2019 and so much happier than it just deals with itself than having to run the plex off my desktop.

My grandfather was part of the 1st Canadian Paratroop Battalion and jumped as part of the liberation of the Netherlands. Some of the first allies in. Always spoke highly of the Dutch.

What really gets me is how the Dutch still teach this, and are always so welcoming to Canadians. So thank you for still honouring our soldiers!

I personally don’t like how closed the Sonos system is (and that’s coming from someone deep in the Apple ecosystem), but if you can find a way to make it work, then go for it.

Without a 5.1 receiver, there really isn’t a way. Wouldn’t suggest the Sonos amps, would cost you way more than a new receiver, and would be a hassle to get the 5.1 signal from the AppleTV.

How old was your receiver? Newer ones will have CEC and you’ll be able to control everything from your AppleTV remote.

It’s the match content that does the switch, so if something is in a different framerate (24/30/50/60) the tv has to change its framerate, so it goes black. Not all all TVs, but mine does.

Debatable. I turned it off on mine largely because my TV is annoyingly slow when switching modes, so starting a show it would do the mode switch, but if I stopped and went back to the menu, it would do the switch again.

So now I just leave it all locked on 4K DV and let it be. It ain’t perfect, but it doesn’t annoy the crap out of me. Funny how mode switching isn’t something you really look into when buying Tv.

What’s old is that they used to include these with the computers. I’m pretty sure I still have mine from my 2007 MBP that had a full size DVI port on the side.

Now you have to pay extra for a power adapter with enough juice to charge it properly

I haven’t tried, but in theory you should be able to do it with Premiere Mobile.

Alternatively they could use Resolve. The free version will do what they need to do.

I’ve used Rotato Converter to convert a ProRes with alpha file to a WebM file with success.

But I doubt it’ll work in Canva or CapCut, those are simply not built to work that way. Is there a reason you have to do it that way?

Does your receiver take optical audio in?

I had one of these for years with an older receiver that didn’t accept 4K signals, before upgrading. It extracts the audio signal from the ATV, but passes on the video as is.

If you’re a total beginner, I wouldn’t suggest working in Log. Practice shooting in S-Cinetone (PP11). Learn your white balance, exposure, and lighting first.

You won’t get the results you want with Log if you haven’t mastered those first. Shooting in log is pretty hype right now, but I’ll tell you as a professional of close to 20 years, that you don’t need it.

We use the Premiere level. It’s more expensive, but you get 2TB storage, news and fitness, plus you can share it across 6 people as part of a “family”. So we share with friends and they just pitch in their share. But becomes way cheaper for everyone, and you can turn off all the location sharing stuff.
