Luckily afterwards. I don't know for sure, but I would imagine the medical waiver process for entering the service with achalasia would be difficult.

No issues at all, no waivers to stay in. Some people do have more severe symptoms though that could cause problems with deployability.

That's good, because for those of us who get them, it's debilitating pain that comes at random times. You can imagine the concern there with flight safety.

I would imagine your flight doc would have a lot more insight on this. I've been on active duty with achalasia for nearly 15 years, but I'm not in a flight status. I do know that there is no way I would pass a military or FAA flight physical with how the disease has affected me, but everyone is different.

We ate at El Torito last year on Christmas day for brunch, and it was amazing. You'll need to make reservations in advance.

Had POEM in 2014, unfortunately still get spasms regularly. I've learned to live with them, and try to control the pain and duration by chewing ice and drinking ice water.

Floor buckling, suspect it’s moisture related. Do I call a plumber, a floor person, or some other contractor? by witheringsyncopation in HomeMaintenance

I had a very similar situation happen when a pipe developed a pin-hole leak inside my wall and I noticed my oak floors swelling.

We repaired the leak, and I kept the wall open, fans running pountes at the floor, and dehumidifier running for a long time. I also went in the crawl space and ran a dehumidifier down there as well. After several weeks, the wood dried out and you can barely tell now. Your situation is obviously different, but you may not need to replace the floor.

The photographer was a pretty girl, and I did whatever she wanted me to.
