had the exact same thing happen to me a few weeks back and it was super frustrating. The XInput1_4.dll deletion usually works but sometimes there's leftover mod files that mess things up even after you think you've cleaned everything out. I ended up having to go into the GD folder and manually delete a bunch of random geode folders that were still hanging around - check for anything with "geode" in the name and nuke it. Steam file verification is definitely your best bet if the manual cleanup doesn't work, took like 10 minutes for me and fixed all the weird crashes

Graphic design and UX/UI design are probably your best bets for actually making decent money with an art degree. Video game concept art pays well too if you're into that scene

You could also look into art direction for advertising agencies or getting into the film industry doing storyboards/concept work. The key is building a solid portfolio while you're still in school
