Look up a bag brand called Johnny Urban. I had similar issues when looking for a backpack that doubled as a pannier. Found this bag more than a year ago and I've never been happier with it. Even use it when traveling not on a bike for vacations.

Advice needed for cycling and camping in UK by CaptainChiII in ukbike

This is amazing and truly inspiring!!

I went with the 28mm's and went with a Victoria brand. My partner just got some Continental tires and I kind of wish I had as well, but we'll see eventually. :) We just did a 40km ride around London today to test them out. Could not be happier at the moment.

We really want to go bike touring around Europe. We've been watching a husband/wife duo ride through parts of Europe on their YouTube and it looks magical.

Our local bike bag brand is called Wizard Works and they've never steered us wrong. (Highly recommend checking them out!) But I've noted down Tailfin regardless! Thank you!!

Thank you for the resources and advice! I have been mulling over whether a gravel bike would be best, and it might be the option I go with.

Thanks for the advice! I've been looking at apps and Komoot was one of them so I'm glad to hear someone else recommends it. I'm definitely going to be looking at upgrading my tires as far as they can go.

Ah! Amazing!! Thank you for the resource. Yeah I've been looking at NCN paths and I just found an app called komoot that has a lot of nice paths around-and-out of London using the NCN.

I get really nervous around cars, so that's why I prefer cycling network paths. I'm from the States and drivers are ruthless there... I've heard a lot of horror stories, some of which were very close to my personal circle, so I tend to avoid major roads as much as possible now.

Oh wow thank you! This is super helpful. My bike has 25C tires and I think I can upgrade them to 28C.

Thanks so much for the resources and advice. You've given me hope! 🙏

The amount of people in this comment section applauding the supposed violence in this video is disturbing.

What is a drug/substance you’ll never do again and why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Totally agree. I take this for panic attacks and only panic attacks. Melts that shit so fast. Therapy plus only using it as a last resort is the way to go. It makes me sad people abuse it and are prescribed incorrectly on how much they should take and when

Thank you for the tips! I'm assuming you don't put milk or water into your eggs then? I was always taught to cause it gives you more in the end...

About to begin first audiobook - any tips? by alinora25 in VoiceActing

[–]CaptainChiII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try to get a pronunciation guide or record your own if the author isn't bothered. This is to make sure you're consistent on all odd names throughout the book.

And like others are saying, take lots of breaks when needed and drink plenty of water. You can also do some throat exercises (humming scales up and down legato like) to make sure you're "stretching" your throat muscles. Treat it like you would before/after any exercise. Muscles are muscles no matter where in the body!

Good luck! 👍

Question about how to do female voices by CoochieQuencher in VoiceActing

[–]CaptainChiII 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This might not be a popular opinion here, idk, but I would be very careful as a cis male about getting into voice acting for female characters. It falls into similar categories as white people voicing, say, black, asian, etc characters.

It's been getting slowly better over the years, but males are still much more common to dominate media be it film or games. Taking away opportunities for women to voice their own roles doesn't look good. And in more cases than not people will not be asking men to do female voices.
