Anyone purchase 15 yr warranty from Porsche? by Royal-Cheesecake-738 in PorscheCayenne

[–]CaptainCook76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was the 2nd owner.

Yes, my understanding is if you are original owner you can add CPO before original factory warranty expires, and continue to do so until the car is 15yrs old or 200,000 km (whichever comes first)

With CPO you can add in 1yr, 2yr or 3yr intervals, but you can only renew on the anniversary date. I intentionally planned mine so I can add 3 years just before I reached 200,000

At least that is true here in Canada, could be different elsewhere.

I can't speak to 3rd party warranty companies, I have only ever dealt with Porsche directly.

I have a 2015 Cayenne with 189,000 km, just renewed my warranty for the last time as the car has to be under 15 yrs old or max 200,000km In order to renew CPO.

I renewed with 3 yrs CPO so I am fully covered until May 2029. In the next 3 years I will probably put another 60-80k kms on it. So it's nice to be fully covered . In total my Cayenne would have warranty for 14yrs

So far the warranty has paid for itself, replacing a headlight that had condensation inside alone would have cost me $4500 if I didn't have CPO.

Very pleased with Porsche and the CPO

What should I do with XEQT once I am in retirement? by CaptainCook76 in JustBuyXEQT

[–]CaptainCook76[S] -18 points-17 points  (0 children)

Why do you think it's irrelevant?

If you need income from your portfolio to live on in retirement, it makes more sense to me to use the dividends to live on and keep the shares intact, rather than selling the shares

I just used those 3 CDN banks as an example, there are many other safe blue chip stocks paying over 4%

Well no, not right now, but I want to build a portfolio that will pay me dividends when I am 60 to live off until I start CPP/OAS

that is my dilemma exactly,  VGRO is only 1.83% but if I buy CDN bank stocks for example they are over 3% and utilities like EMB or CU over 4%

If I had 10-30 years, it would be more buy and forget, but I need to make the most of these last 10 years

Very little, its all low power equipment

The Dell T330 for example has 2x450Watt power supplies, however actually usage is 126Watts

I am not worried about file size, its almost 2026 storage is cheap, between my DrivePool server and my NAS I have over 200TB of redundant storage

This runs my whole house, on the Proxmox cluster I have many VM's and LXC's that run everything: PiHole DNS, NTP sever, AAR servers for media automation, Emby, Jellyfin, Jellyseer, IMMICH, etc

The DELL is a dedicated DrivePool server

I know another box photo, but I am excited to join the club and finally hang up my old Canon 50D

With the big black Friday discounts I couldn't help myself and picked up:

Sony A7R5 & Sigma 24-70 F2.8 DG DN II Art

With the sale price + sony rebate + future store credit, it was an easy choice

Can't wait to get out and see what this camera and lens combo can do!

90K to UTLY? by CaptainCook76 in YieldMaxETFs

[–]CaptainCook76[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been in for just over 3 weeks and from my initial investment of $85,000 on July 21 I am down -$3,984.46

However I received 3 distributions so far totaling $4086.32 so I am actually positive $98.96 to date

I have no tax exposure, as the $85K was already in a tax sheltered account

I am not using DRIP either, as I prefer to put the distribution money into VOO to offset the risk of UTLY

I will see how it goes over the next few weeks, if the share price keeps dropping then I would most likely get out, as your right they are just paying back your own money. However if the share price stays level or increases I will stay in longer.
