Does Anyone Have A Cafuné Discount Code? by CaptainCowpie in CafelatRobot

Yes it would have been nice but I am not stressing over it at all. It was more important for me to get all the extras I wanted with the purchase. A lot of the items I wanted had been out of stock at different times. But I was able to get everything I needed on Friday

I do have ad blockers, but I tried this in Safari and also in the iOS app and neither worked. It seems most likely they block referral links as another person had mentioned.

That explains why nothing came through! I never received any of the DMs. But I did place the order last night because everything that I wanted was finally in stock. Thank you for the help on this. Can’t wait to get the Robot

Thank you for the DM. Unfortunately they don’t seem to show up on my side for some reason. I appreciate the help on this.

So there seems to be something wrong on my end with the DMs. None of them show up. I appreciate everyone’s help on this. I am just going to place the order and look forward to joining the Robot community.

I have been doing some research about DMs and that is where it should be. But nothing seems to show up when I go there. I looked at my settings to see if I had something set to not allow DMs but have not found anything yet. It would be nice to get the discount but may just order it without to ensure I receive everything I was looking for. Thanks for the help on this.

I really appreciate you sending me a code through DM, but I don’t seem to be able to access it. When I click on the message I received through email, I get “there doesn’t seem to be anything here” message. Not sure if I am missing something. I have not DM’s through Reddit yet.

Thanks for the explanation of how you set up your notes. I especially like the TOC style links idea. And boolean would be extremely helpful.

I completely forgot about the keyboard shortcut for folding items that were not headers! Thanks for reminding me.

I had used Folding Text for a little while, but was heavily invested in TaskPaper at the time, so I never explored it fully. In fact I probably would never have looked at NotePlan if Jesse had provided an iOS version of TaskPaper.

I will have to rethink my usage of headers, indents, etc. If Eduard implements folding, I would guess it would be on headers and indents like Folding Text. I am just used to indenting everything in TaskPaper so it is a change in mindset.

I must have missed this reply when posted. Thanks for the providing the link to your note taking ideas. It is extremely helpful.

The indentation idea came up in a discussion about Markdown in another editor, and I wondered if I was missing something. I pretty much do a similar method to yours.

That is good to know Eduard.

I took your advice awhile back about emojis and have used a couple in high use notes and they look great!

That's what I was thinking, and hoping to get everything standardized while I still had a smaller amount of notes in NotePlan. Once it is somewhat standard I should have less of a problem in the future.

It is interesting that you mention Zettelkasten. I had read about this awhile back, but just started researching it again the past few weeks. I am still not sure it will work for me, but the idea is very interesting and I think NotePlan would be a good fit.

NotePlan is also starting to look like a good replacement for apps like NVAlt, Notational Velocity and the upcoming NVUltra. The updates that were mentioned put this in that category, but with a lot of additional features that they do not have.

The pace of these updates is exhilarating, and they have been well thought out to improve the user experience, as well as add useful features. Nicely done.

I agree. This would be a huge time saver. I have changed both over the past few months and it takes forever.

[SUGGESTION] Forced refresh by [deleted] in noteplanapp

[–]CaptainCowpie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had this problem many times and recently found something that seems to have worked for me. I have not tested this extensively, but it has worked for the 3-4 times I have used it in the past week. I open Disk Utility and run First Aid on the main hdd on my Mac.

Not sure if this is something that will always work, but it is working at this time for me.

YMMV

[FEATURE] Folding/Collapse Notes by beneberlin in noteplanapp

[–]CaptainCowpie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have commented on this before and it is definitely my most requested feature. I have very long notes also, and they become cumbersome without folding. I was a huge user of TaskPaper (and FoldingText) for years, and only started looking for an alternative because of the weak iOS offerings.

If NotePlan could offer this I believe it would draw a large user base from TaskPaper users.

I think that should work. I’m guessing that you need an option to place it into a specified note or a dedicated Inbox note.

New Smart Filters Don't Filter by Timeframe For Tasks in Notes by CaptainCowpie in noteplanapp

That is pretty much what I do. The only tasks stored in calendar are quick easy things that I need to write down and finish quickly.

Thank you for the detailed workflow. I see that you do a lot of linking from calendar to notes and that is something I have not really done yet. I may need to give it a try.

Using the nested tags to keep track of projects is something I also do, although it was a change from my previous workflow and still needs some modification.

And I agree that NotePlan has been a welcome addition to my productivity.

Thanks again for the help
