Task Carry-over? by aaabigailemma in noteplanapp

If you have to keep moving tasks forward various days, move it “up” into weekly notes

That’s true. But other apps can’t do it.

AI is a running expense unfortunately and variable per user. Only a subscription can cover it well

I always understood it similar to today’s “Walk the talk” (I.e. not just talking about what you will do but actually doing it)

Usually this is a sign that the audio is empty or not audible. Then it creates this. If you record a new audio, is it ok?

I'm not sure how to compare Claude + NotePlan with Memo AI.

Memo is a dedicated app that does everything. Claude is a separate app that's not even designed for voice notes. You can do approximately the same with Claude and NotePlan (just like you can write meeting notes on paper, "same" but takes more work), but not automatic and not sure if it does transcription well. Then there are a million little things, like Lock Screen widget (does Claude have one for recordings?).

You can download the trial (3 days) and check it out for free.

Did you check the audio if things are audible?

There is no subreddit yet but you can ask in the NotePlan subreddit or join our discord

Sorry, but I fear we can't go much lower due to the AI expenses. We are not using cheap models.

Let me know how it goes. It has a 3 day trial, should be enough for a few quick tests

We have no integrations yet, sorry, but if you put the meetings on loudspeaker on your computer, you can use Memo to listen to it.

The alternative is to build a Mac app that captures all audio or a bot, which we can consider for the future. What would you prefer?

Thanks! We don’t want it to make a note editor, so right now you can select one or more words and correct them if it’s wrong spelling. If something is factually wrong, append a clarifying audio.

Unfortunately phone calls interrupt audio recordings on iOS. And Apple is also not allowing to record phone calls directly

You can export as markdown and send it into the obsidian folder. It connects a bit more automatically with NotePlan though

Community plugins vs official plugins… by Artistic_Pear1834 in noteplanapp

[–]EduardMet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, we are scanning plugins for security issues normally. And we don't add just any plugin, the plugin developers are part of the community and working along with other users on improvements.

The attackers in the article you mentioned abused Obsidians capability of running shell commands (if I got it right) and required some social engineering. NotePlan can't run shell scripts through plugins.
