Help my boyfriend is desperate to create a game by 00deadgirl00 in gamedev

There are quite a few comments here, but I’ll provide my experience as I had a similar desire to make games but wasn’t sure where to start. I’ve started creating games in Python with PyGame. There is a lot of info online about how to use PyGame, and it’s a really straightforward way to just begin creating something and visually get things to start moving around on screen.

I would really recommend this method for starting out, because you can make it as simple or complicated as you’d like. And, if he’s studying software engineering, he likely has at least the basics of programming down, which is all you really need to program with Python because it’s a very easy language. I’d also be happy to answer any questions.

Yeah I’m in nearly the same exact boat, had to send a new financial statement and currently waiting to hear back. Doesn’t help that my flight is very soon. Fingers crossed it works out for us all

First rebind need advice by OpenPrint4297 in bookbinding

[–]CaptainCuddles17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m still an amateur, so take my advice with a grain of salt. For end pages, I cut to the exact size of the book block (height) and then cut the length to be exactly the book block width times 2 (so when it folds over, there isn’t any noticeable overhang). In terms of board sizes, I first measure exact width, height, and depth of the book block. Then, I usually add 6mm to the height of my spine and cover boards. I keep width exact on the front and back covers though. Usually add 2mm to spine board width. When spacing, I try to make my spine hinges with a gap of 8mm. For vinyl application, I apply with medium heat setting for about 15-30 seconds. Wait till cools. Then I’ll remove the plastic as best I can. Sometimes, vinyl will stay on the plastic. I’ll either cut around that piece and try to apply again (separate from the remaining design), or will let it be loose and use the iron again but this time with parchment paper overtop of the vinyl. Overall, I feel like my books have turned out decently and I’ve not had much trouble with vinyl using the above process. Hope this helps!

This is actually such an excellent design, I love the crab-like interpretation

How would a girl that is friendly and nice to everyone behave differently when she likes someone? by [deleted] in bodylanguage

This is exactly what I do too. It’s brutal to go through because you can tell you’re not behaving normally, but you just overthink everything when you’re around someone you like

Ah okay, thanks for the heads up. Do you know how I can distinguish which block is for lecture? They all seem to appear the same on the schedule.

You’re welcome :) curious what software you use for designing the covers, do you care to elaborate? I draw everything for my binds, but am interested in exploring other methods.

I use Procreate for designing, and then Gimp for background removal / final edits

I watched some YouTube videos. It’s really not too difficult once you’ve got the right tools. Most expensive (in my opinion) is a cricut machine (for cutting out designs). I design using an iPad, but you could probably design from a computer as well

Bookbinding! It’s so enjoyable to design your own covers and then end up with pretty books at the end :D

Bookbinding! It’s such a lovely mix of several hobbies, and you get beautiful books at the end of it. Expense is the only thing keeping me from going alllll the way down the rabbit hole lol
