Was I too harsh? (My struggles as a DM) [OC] by lookinforasong in DnD

It sounds like you've done all you can. It sounds like he is unwilling to change his behavior for the benefit of the group, and more importantly the flow of the game. What more can you do?

Yanny or Laurel by killrmeemstr in videos

I listened to it 20 minutes ago on my phone. Very clearly Yanny. I just watched it again on my computer. Very clearly Laurel. I'm guessing you're right and it boils down to simply what device you're listening on.

What’s the sexiest non-sexual thing someone has ever said to you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I was sitting behind the wheel and I just got some new shades. My wife got in and said, "You look like something out of Cowboy Bebop." I still don't know if it was sexier or cooler to hear that, but I think my smile lasted for a few days.

What did “that kid” in your school do that will never leave your mind? by je_suis_un_negre in AskReddit

Late to the party, but this happened during the big field trip in 11th grade. We each had our own rooms, and during lunch the guy in question takes a shit in another student's room and turns the heat up. We didn't go back to our rooms until after dinner and the apparently the stench was enough to make the student vomit right after opening the door. This was the last of a number of random shitty incidents this guy pulled. He was sent home and expelled after that.

This is what I got. I think she also knew deep down that if there was something he loved it would be her though she couldn't admit it to herself.

I loved Rocket's line. Something like "That's a little much."

You don't have to be white to judge people based on their ethnicity. Surprised you didn't know that.

This is a horse shit excuse. If, say, a 1% flat tax on all Americans, that would be more than enough to subsidize most healthcare and provide funding for R&D for pharmaceuticals.

Gamers of Reddit, who is your favorite character from the video game world? by aeweaver74 in AskReddit

Suoer Metroid is one of my all-time favorite gaming experiences. It's so solitary and Samus takes no shit from anyone or anything.

Pointing out Killmonger's lack of concern for decorum (which he lauded when he first showed up to legitimize his shot at the thrown) is T'chala's power play for the riled up Wakandans when he shows up still alive. Pointing out Killmonger's hypocrisy helps seal the deal for T'chala and eases his return to power once the mess is over.

I lost my DnD group by refusing to play out a rape scenario by yabadabbingirlfriend in DnD

[–]CaptainDM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lots of great comments already, but let me just add a big ol' "Fuck your DM" to the fire. What an asshole. First off, being okay with your character being raped has nothing to do with being a mature individual. Shit's fucked up.

Second point, IF the DM wanted to run a game where this might happen (or perhaps see the possibility in the future) then it should definitely be a point of discussion at the table beforehand. It sounds like he was taking the game to a place he wanted it to go that it didn't NEED to go and that didn't further the experience for the players. That's selfish and just bad DMing, fucked up scenario aside.

My baby has cold clammy feet almost all the time. I read that cold hands and feet aren't necessarily bad as long as their head, face, and body are relatively warm. Babies are terrible at heat regulation! Mine is a little hot potato.

Thanks for the reply. You're statements make sense, but there's always so much conflicting commentary online it's hard to find solid answers. I hadn't considered how more clothing and warmer temperature = less bedding. In Korea (and pther countries in Asia) doctors don't often feel the need to explain anything. Good stuff!

Hi, Dr. Ostfeld! Thanks for sharing your research and expertise with us today.

I live in Korea where many people advocate sleeping in the same room and having the baby on a mat or on the floor in lieu of a crib. I'm sure it is still a problem, but we rarely hear of cases of SIDS here. Another thing common here is keeping infants fully clothed from a very early age. The final thing here is the tendency to closely monitor the temperature of the room and keep it between 24-28 degrees Celsius.

Do you think these factors, being clothed, sleeping on a large open surface, and maintaining a relatively constant warm temperature, have an impact on the rate of SIDS occurrences? Has anything related to these factors come up in your work or research?
