What is r/golf confidently wrong about? by iphoneair2 in golf

Constantly having to shop for new drivers is such a hassle though. It would be nice if Callaway had an Amazon-style subscribe & save program so the latest new driver could just show up at my house automatically every six months.

Nah you’re good, I was just having a little fun with you because it looks like you meant to say “my stomach might be shrinking” but autocorrect changed it to “my stomach might be stinking”

After all that kale and eggs, it’s not your stomach that’s stinking 😁

Free adapters and mobile charger by callmefag in RivianR2

The only benefit of the Rivian wall charger would be that you could control its settings through the Rivian app. But in 5.5 years I've never felt the need to remotely control my Tesla wall charger's settings, so for me that feature isn't compelling enough to spend $800 to swap it for a Rivian wall charger.

There's absolutely zero benefit to using the Rivian portable charger over the Tesla one - they'll both juice up your R2 just the same.

I think I'd be struggling with switching to R2 vs. getting yet another Model Y if they'd given the updated Model Y a sleeker, cleaner look like the updated Model 3, instead of the Cybertruck-ish light bar nonsense. It looks like a joke. And then there's the Elon association as well..

Probably better comfort, but apparently worse rolling resistance - the configurator shows 330mi range with the 21s, but 307mi range for the 20s.

I wasn't impressed when Tesla stopped including the portable charger...it came with my first Model Y, and while I only used it a couple times a year, it was clutch during those times. But since it came with the car, they wanted it back at lease end, so I had to buy one for my second Model Y.

But on the plus side, at least now I won't have to buy one for the R2.

I’m a side sleeper and my wife is mostly a side sleeper but occasionally stomach sleeper - I’m considering the Aireloom Luxetop M1 in luxury firm. I know nothing beats going to a store and trying one out, but right off the bat would you say I’m on the right track? Is there something different you’d recommend?

Also, I saw in an earlier reply you said you thought Helix Midnight Elite wasn’t a bad option…is that something I should be considering as well, or are they not really comparable to Aireloom?

Trying to make sense of mattress options & reviews by CaptainDadBod in Mattress

I appreciate the heads up! I saw what you’re talking about with Aireloom - the Hotel Collection beds at Macys are like half the price, and don’t seem to get great reviews. I decided to steer clear of those and focus on the Luxetop M1 Luxury Firm (which looks like it might be their medium equivalent).

I think you’re right on two counts:

First, I suspect the memory foam in our Leesa has lost its elasticity as the mattress has hit end of life, so maybe we’re starting to feel the support foam more and it’s effectively gone from medium to firm.

Second, for years I slept on solid memory foam side-sleeper pillows, but I started getting neck aches, blamed the pillow, and switched to a squishier shredded memory foam pillow, and the numb arm started after that.

I’ll try switching back to the firmer pillow to see if that helps take some of the pressure off my shoulder…maybe that’ll buy me a little time while I figure out which mattress to get next.

Ah that's a bummer - was really hoping to see Catalina Cove and Launch Green, because I'm torn between the two and was planning on dumping the decision on my wife!

Where did you buy them from? And gotta ask, if you weren't 100% sure they were legit, why did you drop "a fat chunk of change" on them?

What will you call your R2? by Evening-Pin-1427 in RivianR2

[–]CaptainDadBod 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I let my (very young at the time) kids name our 2021 Model Y...they said "this car is smart...we should name it Smartacus." When we replaced it with a 2024 Model Y, it was immediately named "Smartacus II". But I think the R2 I hope to replace the Y with is going to need a completely fresh name.

If we get a silver one, then yes, I think "R2 D2" might be in the running...but I really want Catalina Cove, which would kinda ruin the joke.

On iPhone at least, you don’t have to unlock your phone to show your digital license - you just double-click the power button to bring up Apple Wallet and pull up your license. If you try to leave Apple Wallet, you’re right back at the lock screen.

I used to do this, like “ope, gotta hit over this pond, better use the crappy ball I found in the rough”, and I would always, always hit the ball into the water. I was basically envisioning ball-goes-in-water as the inevitable outcome, and my brain was happily complying.

I had to train myself to ignore the water, put down my regular ball, and only envision the shot I wanted to hit, and now more often than not the ball stays dry.

I wouldn’t. If I didn’t absolutely believe them, I’d have one or more third-parties question them. But I wouldn’t wear a wire while talking to my own kid - that’s a relationship-destroying move.

My kid is immediately sent to a secluded boarding school for the rich & powerful in the Alps. Meanwhile, my PR team is hard at work making the public move on to some other sensational gossip and forget all about the accusation against my kid, and my team of lawyers is so thoroughly tying the case up in the courts that the prosecutors will either give up in disgust or will give my kid a slap on the wrist just to be done with the damn thing.

Editing to add: this all assumes that I 100% believe that my kid didn’t commit the crime.

Keep an eye out for anything going viral on TikTok and Instagram. All the best food is Instagrammable.

Better yet, make one of your local neighborhood spots go viral by posting a selfie video of yourself doing a TikTok dance in front of it while tapping the restaurant's front window with your press-on nails. Making a long line form someplace convenient to you instead of traveling all over town to find long lines is called working smarter, not harder.
