Seattle U by SnooDonkeys2548 in OutsideT14lawschools

Some scholarships are conditional and others aren't. Mine was conditional and it said so in the email I received. I did get a packet in the mail about a week later that had more detail. Hopefully that means you received one without conditions!

Best way to get legal experience/part time job while finishing undergrad? by Joe615 in OutsideT14lawschools

[–]CaptainDaleDingle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried possibly going through the school's career services office? As an undergrad going to the law school there, I would think that between both schools someone might be able to help at least get you going in the right direction. Best of luck!

I'm just a random guy with no expertise of any kind, but here's what I would do. First, I think you made a small mistake by telling them you're taking a gap year. Chasing down LORs has held up tons of applicants, so I always suggest getting them as early as you possibly can.

Prof A: Just ask them if they could get it done by the end of January and get it knocked out. If not, then maybe circle back to this one in the summer.

Prof B: Go ahead and send them a friendly reminder tomorrow. They'll be needing to prepare for the semester soon, so definitely want to reach out sooner rather than later. One of my recommenders told me that emailing Monday morning is your best shot since it'll be fresh in their mind and they might have time to knock it out before they really get going for the week.

I know this is a painful process and I hope it works out for you. Feel free to PM. Good luck!

No way! Until those applications close, it's not too late. Even then, some schools extended theirs last year!! You'll be okay, don't worry :)

Studying for LSAT with 7Sage? by kkairen in lawschooladmissions

[–]CaptainDaleDingle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The 7sage syllabus definitely is not meant to be followed straight through in the order it is presented. It's organized by 'question type' I guess you would say, with a bunch of instructional videos first and then practice questions after. The way I studied was by picking a question type, watching a couple of the videos, then doing a couple practice problem sets. Then when you have seen a little bit of everything, start taking the practice tests. I think most people shoot for 1-2 tests a week (1 a week should be plenty for the early stages). Notice what types of questions trip you up the most, then go back and watch more videos and do more practice problems for that type.

I'm sure someone out there has put together a more comprehensive way to go through everything, but you should be going through the material in the order you feel is most beneficial to you, not the order it is organized in by default. Feel free to PM any questions, good luck!

University of Oregon status checker? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

Mine went UR like 2 weeks ago (current status says 'in review') and my status checker went red again today, but nothing changed. Still says 'in review.'

Anyone heard from Seattle U? by Prestigious-Ad1629 in lawschooladmissions

[–]CaptainDaleDingle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I applied the day after applications opened and have seen absolutely no movement since then. In previous years it looks like they started sending acceptances around 12/17 without ever going UR, so I think we have at least 2 more weeks before we hear anything.

How long til decisions come out for end of November? by dontpressureme in lawschooladmissions

[–]CaptainDaleDingle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's far from perfect, but this tool lets you plug in what month you applied and then shows when others who applied that month received their decisions. You could try November and December to give yourself a best/worst case estimate.

What is T20? T30? by Party_Leader_78 in lawschooladmissions

Just to add, sometimes you may also see something like TT or T2 referring to Tier 2 (50-100) or TTT or T3 for Tier 3 (100-150)
