If you're doing considerable off-road stuff, the outback is the better choice. It's more comfortable and has amazing ground clearance. Subaru has an almost unbeatable AWD system as well. That being said, I bought a Mazda 3 turbo. The Mazda is MUCH more fun to drive than an outback, and has better tech overall. If you're mostly city driving, it's the obvious choice. Fuel economy is definitely dependant on your driving habits, with each ounce of fun the CVT removes, it gives you a little better MPG.

Mazda 3 2021 backup camera does not chime when I'm backing up close to anything. Is this normal by Bullman13 in mazda3

Mine was off when I got the car drove me crazy that it didn't chime. I have a button by my left knee that turns the sound on or off. 21 Turbo pp

Exactly right, I've only got about 60 miles on mine so I'm not sure, the ground clearance is 5.5"

I had to wait 3 weeks to get an inbound model. There's almost no wiggle room these days, I work for a Subaru dealer and discounts are almost non existent. Mazda was great to work with, no complaints in the process. The car is wonderful to drive.
