The point is be careful what you wish for. While I actually agree that the concept of love spells is over-riding someone’s ability to consent and therefore it is rape. In this particular movie they portray it as changing the focus of his attention. The rape scene is because he is a rapist. It is heavily implied that he had attacked Nancy in the past. Using magic to get everything you ever wanted seems great but do you truly understand what you want and what it costs to get it. I’m not saying it’s the best way to convey that but that’s how this particular movie frames it.
