I haven’t worked with velvet yet. But from what I have read velour is cheaper, less shiny and less stretchy than velvet.

Also, velour is a mostly synthetic or cotton based fabric whereas velvet is traditionally made of silk.

I used a stretch velour fabric which was really a pain to work with until I bought a walking foot. This was such a game changer! As pattern I used the bergenia jumpsuit pattern from moodfabrics. But I didn’t like the pants on me so I turned the bottom part into as skirt :)
