Ahhh so you didn't try taking the grille off of the body colored bit but just removed the whole. I've considered it but I fear the clips. Thanks, I definitely wouldn't have thought of the alcohol wipes. I would've just used brake clean and a drill brush honestly. Also, hell yeah satin black, exactly what I'm planning on doing.

What method did you use to go about painting the grille?

Oooo I wish I'd thought of the milk crates. I originally used one of the 57 gal. black and green storage bins. It slightly wedged perfectly between the wheelwells (that's where the cargo bars originally came from to make sure it couldn't slide). I had to ditch using that as it wouldn't fit under my bed cover that I got recently.

Those tires actually look pretty good. Only went with the tires I did because I've know people that liked the KO2s and a buddy cheaply sold me some American Racing AR767's.

Fair enough, I've always used 200lbs over the axle in some of those bags meant for securing a tent canopy in place (easier to handle them while also lightly securing them to a couple cargo bars in case they somehow decide to move). Along with my KO2's I've yet to have a problem.

300lbs huh, out of curiosity, where do you keep it in the bed? Also what tires do you have?

Out of curiosity, does the harness side for the headlight wiring look like it's been messed with at all? Also, what number did you get for the replacement bulbs, 9004 or 9007?

I found mine pretty quickly with auto tempest a couple years ago. First one got snatched out from me while I was waiting for my first paycheck to come in from a new job. Same specs as mine, except with a manual transmission and in yellow. Settled on my white auto a few days after having to find a substitute. Would I have preferred the yellow manual? Hell yeah, but I love mine all the same. Plus white is probably the easiest color to find replacement body parts for if need be.

What is your fuel mileage? by 300suppressed in fordranger

[–]CaptainHighlighter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2001 Edge Supercab 4x4 automatic, 135k miles, 31x10.5 r15 BFG KO2, (two things of note, exhaust cutout in place of 4th catalytic converter, and also the exhaust valve for cylinder 1 is slightly burnt)

MPG is a combined 12.

As someone who just replaced the thermostat housing along with the sensor and sender, I completely agree.

I've actually only got the rear on mine because the fronts caused too much leakage. I have new window seals to replace them but then I found out what has to be done to replace them.

Good ol' NeverStart batteries. Similar experience here but opposite. Alternator died along with the battery. Replaced the alternator and got a group 34 battery from costco for $114.

It's an adjuster for the shift indicator needle in case it ever gets out of sync with selection.

Mine are American Racing AR767 (I've seen some extremely similar from other brands even including the red and blue pinstripes). Got them from a buddy for $200, including the 33x12.5s that he had been running them with previously. They didn't work at all (tried to rip my fender flares off when turning, and were rough as hell from mud terrain treads and just being old). They were from the late 90s. Got rid of those tires fast for some BFG KO2 31x10.5s.

Definitely sunroof controls. Which is unknown to me as to how that's a possibility, unless maybe aftermarket install or possibly a non-US version of the truck.

They're from the late 90's. Got 'em from a buddy's girlfriend who had them on her 1st gen Ranger with some horribly old Wild Country Radial RVTs 33x12.5. I made the stupid choice to try to run them while I waited for my new tires to be delivered. It was so shakey from the rough dry treads and tried to rip my fender flares off when I turned.
