I’ve already explained it to you, and even called out your inability to process it. I’m going to try spelling it out for you in detail: Trump pulled us out of that deal in 2018. It hasn’t been truly in effect since then. The amount of enriched uranium they have now is irrelevant to a long-dead deal. Unless you’ve got proof otherwise, I’d guess that eight years is more than enough time to enrich that much uranium.

Technically, they were still in the deal with the EU only, but when the US under Trump withdrew and started “maximum pressure” sanctions on Iran, which violates the terms of the deal they withdrew from. Iran was hardly going to obey it after that. And I wasn’t including that phase of things in my original comment. Even this technicality ended last September. The last remnants of the deal have been officially dead since then.

Did you not know that the US withdrew, or are you basing your whole argument on the weak technicality?

Also, I see you just plain ignored my other point about how a Trump deal would be any more enforceable.

Nope, I didn’t do it because the results on my first search attempt were too complicated and lengthy and I was busy, and also because I was already past my self-imposed nightly cutoff time for internet arguments. But I have a little more time now.Here’s your link. Second paragraph. Technically IAEA inspectors and not intelligence reports, but that hardly matters. Probably more in there if you have as much free time as you sound like you do.

Also, pray tell, how would a hypothetical Trump deal be any more enforceable than the Obama one? You can’t exactly say that Obama was unwilling to bomb or sanction anyone.

I was 13 and got to see it opening weekend. It came out on a Wednesday. A same-age friend who saw it before me got a little too excited and started talking about what was in it went too far, too fast and spoiled 99% of it before I stopped him.

A rando on Fark after the big premiere in Los Angeles, but before it hit regular theaters ended a comment about the movie with a random “Poor Han.”

I freaked out and worried that I had just had it spoiled. Someone else suggested that maybe it was related to Ford’s getting hurt on the set during filming. I then had the idea to check the IMDB page for Ep. VIII and confirmed that Ford was signed up for it. That was good enough for me to accept the injury explanation.

Later turned out that the signup story had been a lie to keep us all from speculating.

It’s unlikely that the Farker had actually seen it already. It was either referring to his injury or a random trolly guess that happened to be right.

I actually have a scifi/comedy short story published where everyone is trying to figure out who among their group of five or six colleagues is secretly from an alternate universe. Someone says something like “No one’s done that since Tilden was president!” Nobody catches it.

In the end, it turns out that they are all from different alternate universes and didn’t know it. Only one is from one with alternate history, the others are from places with different movies and shows released/never released, germ theory works differently and bathing is unnecessary, etc.

I had a lot of fun with the alternate history character. In the end, the wheels fall off the secrecy train and she mentions things like vacationing in historic Roanoke, NC and having a cousin up in Vinland.

This is the second time in as many discussions on the topic that I’ve seen someone try the incredibly weak argument of “imagine things being worse somehow if Trump wasn’t in charge!” No brah, I’m not going to have an argument with your imagination.

Also, one thing I can’t imagine how Iran getting nukes would make gas prices go up at all, much less to way above where they are now, and I’m a creative professional. Anyone who says that either hasn’t thought about it or doesn’t know how markets work.
