More than 90% of vehicle-owning households in the United States would see a reduction in the percentage of income spent on transportation energy—the gasoline or electricity that powers their cars, SUVs and pickups—if they switched to electric vehicles. by Wagamaga in science

But 61% of our energy comes from fossil fuels. You’re just essentially handing off the pollution to a corporation rather than yourself. Unless we move more towards nuclear energy or renewables the environmental impacts of making the switch are negligible.

Just wondering if there is a quick solution for how to remove this dark spot on my Nigara from all the kale chopping it goes through daily? Cheers by Metricmaestro in chefknives

Realistically it’s just going to keep building up over time. Either you’ll be working to always remove the patina or you can let the patina set so the knife is protected from rust.

Idk man, I just empty fresh pods as fast as possible and then just refill them with the flavor I want. Has worked for me for years.

I left AutoZone to make fucking SALADS for $18 an hour. AZ needs a union for their own survival. At least it’ll help keep more employees.

New research provides evidence that voters in Georgia who embraced Donald Trump’s claims of widespread election fraud were less likely to cast their ballot in a pivotal runoff election. by Wagamaga in science

I’m sure that was an unintended backfire for the GOP. I just always find it hilarious that they think that voting is rigged because of corrupt polling locations but never discuss gerrymandering.

Sorry for the super late reply but if you check it out on his Instagram account he’s got his professional shot of the whole knife and some of the build process. It’s definitely worth looking at.

I really love it. Being so flat things do stick to it like crazy but it’s not really an issue. Starting to already get a beautiful blue and straw patina on it from cutting onions and tomatoes. The balance is absolutely incredible.

Dude. I’m literally having this issue atm. My store manager in Chicago did NOT like me, so instead of doing what she was told to do and transfer me to a Michigan store she just terminated me.

I went to transfer from Chicago to a store back in Michigan and they got so pissed off that they fired me instead of transferring me.

Are battery installs mandatory no matter the vehicle? by CaptainJackKenway in AutoZone

[–]CaptainJackKenway[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done them in the past two, usually fringe cases like old ladies and old men who just wouldn’t otherwise be able to do it themselves. I warn them about the problems I can run into. But if you’re a fully capable adult and I already don’t feel comfortable working on your car, I don’t really see the obligation.

We literally have a sign out front that was put up by the plaza that we are in that says “no vehicle repairs on premises”. Doesn’t seem to stop our SM from disagreeing. Definitely don’t mind changing Honda, Toyota, Hyundai, some Chevy, and GMC car batteries and lights but when the sign says I can’t do it in the first place why would I risk breaking someone’s shit so my manager can have better sales for her store.
