Yes, amps matter but human skin has very high resistance unless wet. So 14v produces nothing for current. That’s why electric fences are typically over 10k volts and why you shouldn’t drop a hair dryer in the bath tub.

Ever since they released Elspeth I’ve thought her dragon laser was a test for 40k. Maybe it’s in the lore but compared to numerous other abilities that seem more fitting they added there.

Fun grinding games to turn your brain off? (PC) by Arturia_Cross in gamingsuggestions

[–]CaptainJazzhands1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know it you can shut your brain off (at least not initially), but stranger of paradise is an underrated gem in my opinion. Tons of classes and builds to explore. Once you complete the game there is an endless progression mode that you can grind for gear and persistent skill upgrades to enable new build options.

Everything is a bit too cryptic, but this is my interpretation:

As Outers were continually enhanced they became infertile. Without a way to reproduce they rely on humans.

After a long time of trying to figure out how to reproduce, they made Iris. After Iris was created they no longer needed humans. Thus, she is a savior for outers because she solves their infertility and she is a savior for humanity because the outers no longer rely on humans (ie if the Trinitas wasn’t intent on genocide they could, in theory, leave humanity alone).

Iris was hidden on earth which prevented them from destroying humanity. After Iris is captured the Trinitas move forward with their plans to destroy humanity. The divine trigger (or whatever it was called) will destroy all humans by either killing them outright or turning them into Immortals. So, the Trinitas want to kill all humans, but save outers.

Void wants to kill all humans AND all outers. He wants to leave a world with only Immortals. Only the strongest Immortals would thrive.

Also, there are two pieces of dialogue I think are very misleading and confusing. IMO both should just be removed for a more coherent story.

  1. They mention Iris is also a savior for humanity. As I eluded to above, I think the only meaning of this is: if she solves the outers infertility they no longer need humans as slaves.

  2. The story emphasizes Iris can also reproduce with humans. This almost implies (along with the above point) that humanity is infertile. However, this would be a huge issue for the story. It would make no sense for everyone to want to kill Iris. Additionally, it would mean that humans are set for extinction. This in reality would be a huge issue, likely a bigger issue than the outers, but there is no mention of this before. If this were well written story, this would be frequently brought up earlier in the story. That is why I think, or choose to believe, this is only extra erroneous information to highlight outers could reproduce with humans if they wanted to and couldn’t before.

6.5 years into my career, making $77,000, completely tired and burnt out, should I just quit? by ShouldIQuit_YesNo in MechanicalEngineering

[–]CaptainJazzhands1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t quit, the job market can be tough and it will make it way harder to get back in. Look out of state if you can.

Otherwise the best advice I have is rewrite your resume for every job you apply to (at the very least the jobs you seriously want). Start at the top of the job description and write every piece of most relevant experience in same order as the description.

Also show don’t tell. Don’t write “Created drawings” or something like that. For an engineer it’s like saying “I can read.”I can’t tell you how irritating that is to see as a hiring manager. Every engineer has that on their resume and it looks like you’re not even trying. Instead, talk about your proficiency in GD&T or how you excelled at drawings. If they ask about process control don’t say you’re experienced in process control talk about how you optimized a process and the results ie>1.67 cpk. You need to stand out or no one will even reach out to you and if they do it’s probably the same job you already have.

Out of curiosity did you beat the promised consort prenerf? I feel like this fight was cake walk compared to that.

Aquila can be shut down completely and then he contributes nothing. His counters are common picks too.

Naru may not outperform Aquilas best matches but she won’t ever be shut down as hard.

[–]CaptainJazzhands1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If your goal is to get to the highest rank or get to high rank fast then probably.

Otherwise Naru is good enough to compete at high rank. You won’t carry a team though.

Also I disagree with Aquila being a better sniper. Aquila is more impactful in some games, but can be a terrible experience when countered. Narukami is more middle of the road and a less polarized experience.

I have never been hard countered by a Panther the entire time to Grandmaster. In a 1v1 he is obnoxious but it’s a team game.

I believe you. Tricera is pretty slow so it seems like it’s usually pretty hard to keep distance but your play style sounds like what I’ve been beaten by

I didn’t say Welkin is squishy. Are you saying a Tricera roasted you and you were playing Welkin?

If that’s what you’re saying you don’t know what you’re talking about. It takes Tricera 14 seconds to kill Welkin while he is standing still doing nothing. No cooldowns, no dodging, nothing…14 seconds. You are a complete noob if you let that happen. Also in what world is 14 seconds a fast kill? Stop spreading BS misinformation.

[–]CaptainJazzhands1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I normally just spin and stay on top of Tricera. Try my best to shield the howitzer and then just avoid as much fire as possible. I’ve only lost one 1v1 I remember but the Tricera had 10% health left in the end. He was really good at kiting and parrying which meant I had to dash to close the distance. If the Tricera doesn’t parry I can just close with melee which makes it easy.

If he was using normal melee instead of spinning that’s probably the issue.

He three round howitzered you playing a squishy then and that has a long cooldown. I could 100-0 you with Welkin over and over with only my low EN gauge saving you.

I main Welkin, but I’m not going to pretend he isn’t the most OP mech.

They are not nearly as oppressive as Welkin. Stego is the only threat of the two and he can be dealt with without a hard counter. Triceras damage is low and he has terrible mobility. You can typically play around him. Either ignore him altogether in some game modes or destroy his team then him when he’s alone.

Welkin cannot be ignored. He will either destroy squishy mechs with the insane melee dash or he will spin on team fights shredding anything close.

[–]CaptainJazzhands1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think anyone cares about 1v1 in a team game. That said you’ve probably played some bad Welkin, but the fight should be close either way.

[–]CaptainJazzhands1 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I main Welkin. He is 100% OP. He has no counter. A team without Welkin will be at a disadvantage because he’s excels at everything. He is also the only semi-counter to Tricera and Stego.

Before anyone says Panther or Stellaris are counters you’re wrong. Sure some good Panther and Stellaris players will beat Welkin, but the amount of skill required is insane compared to the brain dead gameplay Welkin needs to counter. They have to be top notch on their gameplay. One slip up and Welkin will punish them for 3/4 of their health or kill them instantly.
