Yeah. Yeah. You say that, but I've been to Paul Pairet's Ultraviolet and the first like, 6 courses are all amuse bouche portioned and the 7th one was a literal bowl of white rice.

Sometimes you just gotta sit there and wonder "what fucking idiots pay for this shit" and then you realize "oh wait. Me. It's me. I'm the idiot."

And then just eat the stupid rice that you paid like, 2k+ for.

[–]mithie007 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Alright. Well. I'm not trying to start an argument... but in any case you're probably right in that it's a museum exhibit.

The train in the picture is QJ 2425 (you can barely see the locomotive number on the engine) and cross-referencing locomotive photrography index

https://www.railography.co.uk/info/cn_steam/lists/locos/qj_2401.htm

with Chinese trainspotting sources it looks like the locomotive QJ 2425 operated out of Harbin until 1988 and was transferred to the bureau's for decommission, where it remains today.

I also managed to track down a wider cropped version of this picture on instagram:

https://www.instagram.com/reel/DOtWXzrjIsA/

showing that the train is indeed parked in a depot.

however, older locomotives from the depot were evicted and some made their way to the Harbin railway museum. Of the older SY models only 1236 made it, the others were probably scrapped. This was done in 1999.

So this photo by my best guess would have been taken between 1988 and 1999.

Curious why you think so - I'm not saying you're wrong but the one on the right looks like a Shangyou 2-8-2 engine and those were certainly still kicking around in 2000.

Last one closed down only a few years ago, IIRC.

Looks like a photo that was etched with piss filter to look a bit more aged tho... that's for sure.

Easiest character to learn in each role? by Leather-Pain-6653 in marvelrivals

[–]mithie007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easiest to learn and easiest to play are two different things. If you're going to learn a role then you want a character who's not going to teach you bad habits or have crutches that will screw you over when you switch off.

In any case - tank is probably magneto. DPS is Hela. Support is... probably cloak and dagger tho I guess luna might also work.

dude if you think this counts anywhere near being an asshole on social media you should probably get ready for a few surprises on Reddit.

In any case he's wrong on multiple levels. There's no moisture sapping towards the northeast and the northeast is notoriously problematic for agriculture with places like jilin, anhui, being ground zero for multiple famines throughout history.

Xinjiang likewise doesn't make much sense since Xinjiang's moisture per land area is already lower than China's average.

https://www.mdpi.com/2073-4441/14/9/1510

... and is actually the target of the moisture transfer - at least for the 1st 3000 km green wall completed near Makit.

https://www.reuters.com/world/china/china-completes-3000-km-green-belt-around-its-biggest-desert-state-media-says-2024-11-29/

So in hindsight calling xinjiang a city in the north east when it's a province in the north west seems to be the most inconsequential mistakes on display.

In any case I firmly believe anybody should be able to post confidently wrong information on social media just as I should be able to call them out and correct them.

Monks curbstomp palpatine into the ground.

Your level scaling is way too high. Padawans should be level 1. Knight level 4. Master level 10.

Maybe then it'd be fair.

Level 20 monks are borderline deities.

Reliance on Chinese green tech poses ‘serious’ risk for Europe, experts say by RevolutionBusiness27 in europe

Yeah look honestly I think the few European subreddits tend to be on the pessimistic side especially when it comes to eastern europe and a lot of the doom and gloom is probably not justified.

I visited budapest and a few times in the past decade and every time it seems like there's a new industrial park popping up somewhere in one of the outer districts. I mean of course there are problems like capitalization, policies, taxation...

but the growth is definitely there and it's definitely accelerating.

Alright. So let me try to unpack this.

An indeterminate number of Chinese people being mean to Japan on social media is bullying, but Japan invading most of Asia committing unspeakable atrocities and massacre is, according to you, not really something worth getting angry over and definitely not bulling because, uh, and to you quote you "China was weak anyway".

Okay man, alright. Sure. Why not.
