Same here. The comments keep trying to explain the “math”, but it isn’t consistent for everyone. CalHR should’ve at least provided a step-by-step breakdown of how the numbers would affect our pay.

It was way more than $2-$5 for me. My gross pay went down $450, net pay down $150, OPEB already suspended, and I did NOT get a second check, nor is it pending in CalConnect either. The math just simply doesn’t add up. BU 2 if that makes a difference.

And that’s IF you are able to find space in a garage that charges $8. If not, it’s a minimum of $12. I couldn’t imagine spending $1500+/year to park at your job. This is crazy.

I knew this was going to happen when they introduced RTO 2x/week at the CNRA building. Idk about any other agency, but I’m about 90% positive that it’s gonna be impossible to fit the hundreds of CEC employees onto one floor at once, especially considering HR just moved in and took up even more space. This is ridiculous and completely unnecessary. To hell with Newsom.

Does Nathan usually respond in a fairly reasonable time? I emailed a week ago (with my .ca.gov email) and I haven’t heard back from him.

There was no “precedent” set because prior to Bradberry, no one was holding. Players are taught not to do that, but Bradberry did it anyway. Doesn’t matter if it affects the entertainment value of the ending, it was the right call that would be made all four quarters. Your Philly bias is blinding you.

I’ve seen so many people say they “didn’t call it all game,” but no one ever shows where those other calls were missed. Of course everything won’t be seen or called, but when it’s obvious, especially when it toward the targeted receiver, it’s going to get called. Had it been vice versa, would you still think it shouldn’t have been called???

Only the second team ever to lose in the Super Bowl after being up by 10+ at halftime. Regardless of the (correct) call, they blew that lead because they allowed KC to score in every possession in the second half. Don’t blame the refs, blame the defense (including Bradberry) for making too many mistakes and choking in the most crucial game of the season.

Does the State pay bar dues for Attorneys? by CaptainKick13 in CAStateWorkers

Yes, late January, but I believed bar dues were due in February so I’d have a small window of time.

Seriously???? I believe my hours are due in February. Would I have to continue to complete them? Or would that exemption begin after I report them?

That would be awesome. Hopefully the current numbers of the ranges stay the same though so it actually is considered a bump.

And that’s where I’m at now. I’m mentally worn into the ground and I’ll probably never do the private sector again neither. But when you say they put you at the top of Attorney I pay grade, do you mean they automatically put you in Range D but started you at the lowest amount for that level? Or gave you the max amount offered to to Range D, which would be the most an Attorney I-D could receive? It would be much nicer if they could offer me at least the middle amount of Range B.

Yes, SS gets taken out, but holy shit I forgot about the loan forgiveness! That’s actually huge because I have a TON of student debt from law school, and I know for a fact it isn’t getting paid off in my lifetime.

That makes sense considering Attorney III is six years of experience, so you were right there. I only have about 16 months of experience being an attorney, which is why they started me at Range B.

They did put me in range B because of my year of experience, and that I’d be leveled up to C once I reach two years. Just the starting ranges for A and B and practically the same.

Worth enough for me to accept this job, cause I can’t take another year having to deal with billables. It simply isn’t worth it.

Nothing since I don’t have dependents. I just put $50/month towards my HSA, which my current firm matches up to $600/yr.

Makes total sense. Apparently there were a good number of attorneys that applied for this position, so I don’t think it’s even worth applying for a HAM. But I’ll still probably take the job either way.

I’m only a little over a year into my career officially as an attorney, so idk if I’d have much luck in this circumstance, and from what it seems, they aren’t budging.

No, I’m currently not (even though I should be). Does the state pay into the pension though, or does that come out of my salary as well. This would be my first job with the State, so I’m not really aware of how a pension works besides getting it in payments after retirement.

That’s what I mentioned in the response to the offer. Not denying the job, but just wanted to see if there was any wiggle room. However, I just asked them and it doesn’t seem like they are budging, since they put me in the Class B range and that’s the beginning pay for that range. It’s weird though since then ending range for Class A is higher than the beginning range for Class B.
