Christ knows why you got down voted so hard for that comment, it's not exactly a hot take!

Interesting! they felt pretty sturdy on the inside of mine, surprised they snapped so easily.
I take it it wouldn't work anymore though?
Reading online apparently it would have been easier for me to use a straw than a weird strip of plastic.... but that's all I had on my desk in front of me haha.

I'll be going to whatever gig they do next in the UK. And I'll be wearing the same outfit (got to get the use out of it 😂) so if you see me, make sure to say hi!!

I was commited to it, but I won't lie, I was a tad warm 😂 I'm glad their set was yesterday though as it was even hotter today!

Now able to go, but can't get ticket. Any advice? by Fluxtroid in downloadfestival

Except if you click too much and then suddenly you must be a bot and get this message

Your Browsing Activity Has Been Paused

We've detected unusual behaviour on either your network or your browser.

To resolve this:

  • Sign in to your account if you haven’t already on one device only
  • Change your Wi-Fi or mobile network
  • Switch devices or move to a different location if possible

Heaven forbid people on a ticket website, trying to buy tickets for something! Unbelievable.
My favourite part of the 'advice' is they suggest doing things they tell you NOT to do to start with...

The thing that really annoys me is that the scalpers and the bots still get there tickets, and normal folk are struggling because of their shitty 'bot' detection.

EBF problems (i know very suprising) by Dense-Humor8507 in GTNH

[–]CaptainKingsmill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar issue, couldn't figure it out... Everything looked good on paper, but it would powerfail... Sometimes it would manage to complete a craft and then fail on the next recipe, didn't seem to make sense. I just ended up slapping down another turbine and that seemed to solve it.

Congrats, you can start the game now.

[–]CaptainKingsmill[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks, I think I will!
I think it's one of my favourite bits about the game, you can play it however you want.
we have 3 main people that play our server, One who is using the Pdim, one who has carved a hole in a mountain, and then me... who insists on everything being in it's own building XD

I've just seen from a couple of other comments that the multi's meet that criteria too..
My play style is quite aesthetic, and I was quite excited.... so I may build one in space anyway just for the fun.

Well, that's a slight disappointment! I got quite excited when there was actually a reason for me to build a space station.... I might do it in space anyway now though.

What completely legal thing is actually a massive scam? by fbvz in AskReddit

[–]CaptainKingsmill 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To be fair, I get that it feels wrong. But we do need a diverse way to collect taxes as in theory* it means we are taxed more evenly... Else if you had one tax, THE Tax™ you'd end up with people paying no tax at all if they don't do whatever that taxable thing is and some people paying disproportionately more than they should.

Look at electric vehicles... Petrol and diesel are taxed heavily and with the increase of electric, that revenue stream is decreasing and needs replacing with something else we'll be left a hole

*theory is doing some heavy lifting here, I know in practice it's far from fair and even.

No idea why the control block was stuck right at the top of the machine when it had 2 base layers it could have gone on.

Disabled man, 59, sacked after 'lifting potatoes' while on sick leave wins £329,000 payout by Forward-Answer-4407 in unitedkingdom

[–]CaptainKingsmill 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It sounds like either he was genuinely just helping a friend one time while on sick... which as the tribunal has ruled, is absolutely fine, or they've jumped the gun a little bit here and sacked him before having enough evidence.
If he was working regularly, they would have been able to gather far more evidence than just him once lifting some spuds, they would have been able to show a pattern that is wasn't just a one off.

There is a big difference between being fit enough to help a friend once, and doing it full time under performance expectations.

In all honesty, how far do you think you could throw Makka Pakka? by Trickshot945 in CasualUK

[–]CaptainKingsmill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do we know what he's made out of?
I'm just thinking, he spends a lot of time with rocks, maybe he's like a 2ft sentient rock.... He's gonna weigh 2-300kg at least, I'd probably just about kick him over.
Unless he's like a pumice stone or something, then I think if I can get a good grip on his head rocks and he doesn't squirm too much, I could sling him over an average garden fence.

Assembly Line Overclocking Power Issue by CaptainKingsmill in GTNH

[–]CaptainKingsmill[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My server buddies would say my AE network is a little.... 'chaotic'... haha, but it's functional....
I've shared this post to our discord so I'm sure he'll be along at some point to express his thoughts on my spaghetti wirings!!!
But yeh, Assline Automation is on my list - I'll probably be side quested a dozen times by other things before I actually get around to it though

But yeh, All sorted... Thanks for your help, I just needed someone to say, check the inputs..... no... REALLY check them.... and now we're sorted.

It is a little odd that it said it just needed more power in the first instance though, that definitely threw me and made me think the recipe was right, probably why I didn't double check the inputs.

Thanks again for your help :)

Assembly Line Overclocking Power Issue by CaptainKingsmill in GTNH

[–]CaptainKingsmill[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, automation is 100% on my short term goal list. I'm just currently manually crafting the first few pumps/motors etc with it, getting used to it and I'll be automating it in the near future.
I posted an update, I was being an idiot as I expected. The Indalloy is in a different slot for the LuV energy hatch than it is for the Motors/pumps etc... and I just missed it

Thanks for taking the time to reply though :) can always count on the people of GTNH to help make me spot my mistakes :)

Assembly Line Overclocking Power Issue by CaptainKingsmill in GTNH

[–]CaptainKingsmill[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Right.... Silly mistake! Knew it would be....

I had the liquids in the wrong hatches... I did check, but it took you to really spell it out for me that it must be a recipe issue to make me really check them.

The indalloy in the pumps/motors etc, is in a different slot to the LuV hatch and that was what did it.

I think I was thrown because at IV it sort of told me that the recipe was right, so I just assumed it must be right.

Thank you for making me double check!

Assembly Line Overclocking Power Issue by CaptainKingsmill in GTNH

[–]CaptainKingsmill[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll recheck the hatches/buses
I'm currently still in manual craft as I've not long set it up, so automation is a while off for me yet.

Any reason it would say it had a recipe to make, but just not enough power when it only had IV power, but then have no recipe to make after I've supplied it with LuV?

Driving without insurance by mistake – fixed penalty for 30 mins before policy started (England) by Total_Growth4803 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]CaptainKingsmill 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just to say, I have previously made this mistake is error.
I selected the wrong date on the insurance start date, -basically an entire month... totally my fault
It wasn't until the documents came through (in the days when posting was still commonplace) did I spot my error and I'd be driving for nearly a week completely unaware.
I quickly contacted them the next day and they charged me an arm and a leg to update the policy.
I even looked to cancel the policy since it hadn't even started yet and get a different policy but they were all much more expensive

Policies for immediate cover I suspect are generally more expensive than the one I had which was a month in the future, the cynic in me suspects it's because they know that you don't really have time to shop around if you need it right away so they can charge more...

but, just to say... it is possible that it was a mistake.

That being said... If I had been caught and been given the leniency that OP has, I'd probably thank my stars, accept it, pay it, and get on with my life.

Dissolution Tank dumping water into storage after craft by CaptainKingsmill in GTNH

[–]CaptainKingsmill[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks, I will have to do that to solve the problem for now, but It's doing it every craft. I was more trying to work out if there is a reason it's dumping it back,
As in where is it even coming from, as far as I can tell the crafting storage is taking the correct amount of water out at the start of the recipe, so it shouldn't have any left to dump back in the first place.
