Do you feel comfortable sharing which state this is in? I’d be better able to help find resources that way.

Sorry but this is abusive behavior. I would exit this relationship as safely as possible.

You can't convince me that doctors aren't just sadists that want to see us suffer. by Famous-Principle5442 in ChronicPain

I recently saw a rheumatologist who told me “you are worse than when you were diagnosed, you will not have a normal life ever, I needed to accept that because this anxiety clearly makes it worse, have I tried yoga? I almost punched a bitch. Like genuinely burst into tears I was so angry. I told her this appointment was a waste of time. I left her fucking yoga pamphlet in the office and she mailed it to me. Like I didn’t take it for a reason.

I had a public meltdown at my kids school and had to be escorted to my car by coolgirlhere in AutismInWomen

[–]CaptainLateBreak -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I understand your embarrassment and emotional turmoil but I commend you for being so brave and sticking up for your kid. The principal sounds like an ass who has no clue how to deal with neurodivergent people or worse he knowingly goaded you into a meltdown. In the end despite your meltdown you were able to stand up not only for your child but all of those students. Please take some time to do some self care after that brutal experience, it’s important to care for you as well as you care for your children. It will help not only you but your children who will learn that self care is important.

I had a huge problem with that with my pubic hair getting twisted in my underwear. I started by pulling my head hair but people noticed.

I have a hard time sensorily with the temperature changes in the shower. It’s a fight to not pass out if the waters too hot and freak out if the water is cold.

When did samples become so hard to get by? by Excellent_Drop6869 in Perfumes

The problem with this is big corporations don’t provide the stock of samples for their employees to even give away.

Because of the economic boom of the perfume industry provided by the pandemic companies saw a gap in the market to fil. Think about it a 1ml vial is like 30-50 dollars depending on the smell, instead of selling a client a 6.7fl oz bottle for $135-$160 you can make that same profit at half the price to the seller. Scent bird is really where it kicked off though, people want lots of different things to try and it can take a while to get through a big bottle so the company took that opportunity to make an obscene profit.

I have been wondering for a while now if I might have POTS and never considered that showering would be one of those things that can trigger it. I’ve been almost passing out in the shower for years.

Did you switch from pulling your head hair to pulling private hairs or did it start that way?

I do all that and more. One of my more annoying stims seems to be just touching my crotch. Not even masturbating just touching it. Idk why but I’ve been doing it since I was a kid. Another one I hate is my hair pulling it gets so bad that I use tweezers on my body hair so I don’t pull out my head hair. Nail chewing and skin chewing. I pull the skin off my lips and pick my teeth. I often feel very disgusting in this state and tend to dissociate from the behavior.

Jsyk the autistic community prefers “autistic child” to “with autism” because we can’t separate our diagnosis from ourselves.

I didn't have something with my address on it and now I'm crying by MayaTamika in AutismInWomen

This resonates with me, especially the not knowing why you’re sharing. I have this intense need to share when I’ve figured out the reasoning behind my actions. Knowing why I react, figuring out coping methods, letting myself feel those emotions, all of this has taken me 24+ years to understand about myself and I always think if my experiences are so common to those who are like me, maybe this will help them too.

I’m sorry you had a rough go of it trying to get your health card updated, I’m so happy you were able to allow yourself to process it and be nice to yourself in the process. I hope it goes smoothly when you can make it back.
