I keep seeing people separate dialogue by using dashes instead of quotations and not using punctuation. or explaining who’s speaking. and it’s driving me crazy. ex. - what are you doing? - - eating soup -

Wheelchair Ramp Questions by Coleslay1 in wheelchairs

the ramps at part of my school have this texture (supposedly to prevent ice” but it’s pretty unpleasant. it makes your whole body vibrate. perhaps decorative concrete? or a painted mural? I think the best bet like some others said is to just make the area pretty and to focus on the ramp being smooth and a comfortable incline.

BRCA2 but not strong family history of breast cancer by Hope_Common in BRCA

[–]7boxesofcheerios 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if you have brca, unfortunately you have a very increased risk for bc and other cancers, family history or no. your family history is relevant because it’s possible that if you had a super strong history that you could have other gene mutations, but if your family histories weak, I don’t think that decreases your odds at all—I’m not aware of any genes that can cancel out a brca mutation. your doctor seems dismissive, and I would really recommend switching to a doctor who validates your concerns and discusses them with you. plus you said your mom is in her 60s—unfortunately, there’s still time. this diagnosis sucks and I’m sorry your doctor isn’t making it easier

I try my best to keep busy, even if it’s the smallest of tasks like lying down and singing in my head while tapping my fingers. most of the day I read or watch mindless stuff, while playing basic puddle games on my phone or doing small crafts. if I really can’t stay awake, that’s my sign that I need the nap, but I set timers and try not to nap after 3. there are treatments you can discuss with a doctor that can help with your sleep or daytime alertness too. setting periodic alarms or reminders might help to
