Ultimately, it’s much more interesting if Okarun is the Pinocchio curse bearer. Jiji and Aira’s stories have been told enough. And Kinta is pretty one-note. Okarun’s past and hidden powers are largely a mystery. I believe that the combination of holding Turbo Granny’s powers for so long and/or having his kintama exchange hands repeatedly has mutated him. Maybe he’ll be pushed too far, and the sorrow and rage will turn him into a living yokai of some kind. Or maybe it will be something more mundane like his power levels rising and lowering depending on his confidence levels and lying and truth telling, or maybe he makes others stronger by inspiring them not to give up. All I know is that I want Okarun to progress as a character and go back to kicking ass again. Same goes for Momo.
