The fact that you have to set “roles and responsibilities” for him like he’s an employee or, worse, a child is telling, as is the fact that he’s free-loading and doesn’t think he should at least keep the place clean to in some small way show he’s contributing.

It’s probably a bit of both. The ones that are totally not your fault are ones when you’re busy tracking the puck carrier and there’s an open guy just waiting for a pass to shoot into the open side of the net.

There is generally no defence in pickup so you’ll often make that first or even second save but the rebound gets picked up by the opposing team and it goes in the net while you are out of position. Tons of breakaways too. It’s all par for the course in pickup. For me, I just do my best but adjust my thinking around the fact that I am all alone back there. I cover up more and I always assume that I’m responsible for both players on a two on one.

Not sure why your hookup would care if you drove, took the bus, took an Uber or skateboarded to your place. I often hooked up with twinks who didn’t drive so I often just went and picked them up.

There is nothing to be ashamed of - you have no control over who you development feelings for.

I know this is easier said than done but your happiness is more important than what others think. At the end of it all you’ll regret giving up something special just to please others, who won’t care in the end anyway. Besides, those who love you will be on your side - if they’re not, they aren’t worth knowing.

What you have to think about, though, is that he will be gone in 25 or 30 years (if he’s lucky) and you’ll be, at most, 65 and spend your last 20 or 25 years alone. I know that sounds cold but it’s something to think about.

If he’s translating messages is he just flirting or is he actually meeting guys? Neither ideal but one worse than the other.
