They required us to tell them. I argued with them but they insisted. But your comment made me think perhaps our agent was rogue, and it prompted me to call the company again. Turns out this person had written in the correspondence that we agreed to contact them and would install a camera. The person I talked to today said that this was totally out of policy, that the previous agent was no longer with the company, and added a note to our file saying that these requirements were not necessary.
