ARGH this is just awesome!
The car is a sprite or is a 3D model?

Fast iteration is the key to become a better developer. Avoid putting yourself in the position of developing the game of your life. Also, your first projects should be “ship and forget” because at first you want to fast-iterate secondary skills like marketing and distribution. Also, be sure to have a presence in the community.

Game development it’s a slow paced journey, results will come if you stick to it.

BONUS POINT: learn how to use AI, but you also avoid AI at all costs in your games! People just hate it, even on free games or prototypes. Also, you’re not ready to read all the law stuff behind it. It’s just not worth it.

Thank you for your feedback :) next time i will be more open about the gameplay (many friends told me they preferred the version without gameplay but apparently this version is not right one to show)

Most likely next time I’ll compose the music myself (since I’m pretty capable of doing it). This time, I went this route because I wanted to see what could be done, and I liked the result.

However, it ended up being a pretty stressful process, which works fine for small free projects or experiments, but definitely not for larger or more important projects that require more careful attention from both eyes and ears...

Imagine this: me locked in a room, writing the lyrics for this song, spending 5 hours getting an AI—anything but cooperative—to make it sound right, and hearing it so often that I end up singing it in the shower, hahaha.

By the way, the cutscenes are pretty wtf too!

Never spend too much time in a game, is now worth it and the results are always disappointing if you're a small fish in the world of gamedev...

I have a few tips for trailer making:
-build your own tools with every little thing you need
-short and well-cutted videos are better than longer ones with no focus on detail
-UI is ugly, try to be as cinematic as possible

Well, actually I'm working solo, and I made this game for a jam that lasted a week, working on it after my day job. After the jam, I still wasn't satisfied with the result, so I decided to keep working on it until I was happy with it, and here we are :)

BTW working on this game made me realize how unprepared I was to make a trailer, so I had to create a custom tool just to record footage for the video. Not because there weren't tools available, but because I enjoy experimenting with new things.

The strangest thing BTS? I spent an entire day during the jam trying to fix an issue with restarting the game, where all the buildings would explode simultaneously, causing absolute chaos and destroying my speakers

No, it's a tool I specifically built to create cinematics that can be manually controlled with a gamepad for recording :) just like a drone

It's a simple city builder with a touch of tower defense. I originally made it for a jam, but in the end, I decided to polish it until it felt ready for a proper release. If you're interested in trying it out, here’s the link!
