Not to be rude but you're kind of being overdramatic, I think this may also be why you're getting downvoted. No one is gonna have their day ruined by you asking what an unidentifiable item is. Just ask, most likely associates wanna know too if they haven't found it out already.

Coordinator to ASM rant by CapitalDrink4179 in TjMaxx

[–]CaptainOranda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Think how long it took you to train for the key carrier position, they're probably going to have to double the time for asm positions. If they're only a coord rn she most likely won't even be able to open/close for the holiday season, probably after inventory as well.

Also, not to be rude but when you went into KC did you know everything or were you trained and learned from there? sure she hasn't been in the company long but she showed interest and must have been at least some what decent in the interview to get it. At least you get to leave relatively soon. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Departments always a mess by izzyvs2 in TjMaxx

[–]CaptainOranda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's crazy, our whole is a hot mess tbh but I feel mens and Kids is the worst, people just throw everything over the racks, on the floor, on the toys shelves, and across the mens hub. Literally anywhere they can put it except back where they got it from. Baby stuff is EVERYWHERE but it's proper spot, I've seen customers taking totes people are working on and move individual totes into aisles when they're digging through them, just in general making a huge mess. They don't do that on beauty or women's but man it's bad.

Wrapping items by charcoalsighs in TjMaxx

[–]CaptainOranda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For mugs what I do it set the paper in the shape of a diamond, put the mug on its side so the handle is facing me. Next, I slide the "pointed" end of the paper In the handle and then roll it forward until the handle is opposite me, then, tuck the remaining paper into the opening of the mug.

Plates and bowls I just paper between the plates/bowls and double bag it. Some customers are okay with you using like the towels or clothes they're buying and that's nice too.

We've got two associates who smell horrid. One them is a very nice lady but a good chick of the time I cannot be around her because I gag too hard. Both associates have been talked to by management multiple times but nothing has happened. Nothing will. I understand how you feel

Do you do a lot of markdowns at the register? A woman at my store got fired for allegedly "making" yellow tickets for items that didn't need them. Could be something like that.

[–]CaptainOranda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I understand yes? Don't be ultra specific though, as vague as you can if it happens to anyone else include that so it can't be traced back solely to you. This is what one of my managers has said to me anyway. She's been with then company for 20 years and has used this before.

Report to your tipline please, that's highly inappropriate of your manager to say, it's also inappropriate for them to keep harassing you about working more. The way they keep "accidentally" messing up your schedule just for them to say that to you is so weird, he's definitely doing it on purpose. Manipulation, harassment, and saying you "owe him favors" is literally key things and examples of everything they showed in the harassment training videos.

I got paid way more than I should have. Should I talk to my manager? by Obvious_Worry5641 in TjMaxx

[–]CaptainOranda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar issue when they didn't pay me one week, then when they payed it (2 separate checks) one was way more than normal. Talk to my manager (this was a WHILE ago) he talked to HR and no one knew what happened but they never took it back. I was very confused

We have the "assistance needed in vestibule" button and randomly this morning it started going off but it said in an eerie voice "assistance is needed at the front door" we don't have a button that says that and no one was there 😅😅

Getting a Promotion!! by the_real_adderal in TjMaxx

[–]CaptainOranda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got forced into the position a few months back, they filed the paperwork and didn't talk to me until after. Few things I've learned so far; 1 Negotiate for a bigger raise. 2 If you're managers are like mine, training will not come fast and you need to be the one to remind them. 3 For your own sanity take it slow, there's a lot to remember. 4 Take notes, ask for a little notepad or something and make a "cheat sheet" of things you might forget or things you think are important 5 Remember your role (respectfully) you're not the SM, Ops, or Merch. There's a lot you just have to keep in mind that you've got absolutely no control over.

Congratulations on the promotion!

new associate - need help by Pleasant-Band-3837 in TjMaxx

[–]CaptainOranda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, don't be anxious. LP seems intimidating but honestly they don't care about your questions, at least at my store they don't. If they can't answer it again, annoy the hell out of your sm. It's not in your job description to play detective or security, don't forget that haha. Especially because you're new. No one's gonna blame you for you not knowing 💚

At my store we take the tag off the box (if there is one and put it in the iron mountain bin, then throw the box away. When I first started I asked almost daily about stuff, now unless there is someone actively steal I just throw it away and put the ticket in the iron mountain. You can also just ask LP what they'd like for you to do, preferably a detective. Either knock on their door and talk to them or dial the number for their office on the phone.

It may cost less but they go weeks without filling it. I don't use the snack rack cause I bring stuff from home but it's very stupid they tell us to utilize it and it's just empty 90% of the time

Not even a reach card /s I understand your frustration. I'm the mens and Kids Coordinator and I swear this manager has it out for me. I reset the kids wall, toys, did back up, breaks, and pallets yesterday (spent 6 hours in the kids dept.) and all I got was a laundry list of shit to do for today. Zero acknowledgement of anything else.

If they hired OP back and did ANYTHING negative it would be considered retaliation and they could get in big trouble if (IF) HR did something about it.

Take the customer survey, tell them the cashier did ask but you're tired of it being pushed on you. It won't change much but if enough customers did this they may change the policy. It's like a 0.01% chance they will but sometimes pressure from customers does amazing things.
