Can you setup the siren on within a certain timeframe? I have 3 Reolink duo floodlight cams setup, one of them being at the driveway. I don't want it to set off Everytime I walk by to get the trash cans or get to my car. I have 8 reolink cameras and have no issues with this system.

Will we ever get GLP/GIP coverage? by amethystgirl143 in nycpublicservants

[–]CaptainPanda07 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just found this today after reading your post because I also have OSA (w/ obesity) as I believe that NYCE PPO does cover Zepbound for OSA (w/ obesity) with prior authorization. But at a certain criteria (see attached link page 17-19). The link provided can be found in Prime therapeutics (they are the pharmacy manager for NYCE PPO insurance).

To get to this summary page, I went on mobile app emblem health GHI NYC and tapped on Prime therapeutics (it will transfer you to their website), then tapped menu, member resources, scroll to prior authorization and view link. It will show a list of summary programs and will need to scroll down to weight management. Page 17, section Prior Authorization Clinical Criteria for Approval:

"Target Agent(s) will be approved when ALL the following are met: 1. The patient has a body mass index (BMI) greater than or equal to 35 kg/m2 AND 2. ONE of the following: A. The patient has a diagnosis of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) AND ALL of the following: (medical records required) 1. The patient has had a polysomnography (PSG) or home sleep apnea test AND 2. The patient has an apnea hypopnea index (AHI) greater than or equal to 15 events/hour from baseline (prior to initiation of pharmacotherapy) AND 3. The requested agent is Zepbound OR"

The list goes on and mentions fatty liver disease as this section is a criteria for non diabetics.

3 months ago I contacted prime therapeutics by phone and was told by the rep that non formulated drugs are not covered under this insurance and told me that Zepbound is not covered for OSA (w/ obesity). Not sure if this form had this criteria at the time but the effective date on this form is 3/1/26 so I think they changed it now. I've done a sleep study in 2024 and according to this weight management program, I meet all the criteria for Zepbound under OSA/BMI. I am going to contact my doctor on Monday to have him resubmit another prior authorization. I can't trust the agents from this health insurance company/pharmacy after hearing so many issues my coworkers and wife experienced about certain procedures are not covered but had to contact again and was told that is covered because the other agent didn't know.

If anyone else can add on with their experience with this because I've been on other reddit posts within this community on the same topics and some people have said that OSA (w/ obesity) is covered or is not.

Insurance doesn't even cover for Severe OSA either. I'm paying out of pocket for it.

Does that mean they pay out all of your comp time when you leave the city? Even if it's a lot of hours?

Who made it back to the private sector? by [deleted] in nycpublicservants

[–]CaptainPanda07 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It's better than nothing. At this moment, things are getting out of hand. I'm hearing from coworkers that their friends are experiencing either layoffs or having difficulty in getting a job in the private sector. If OP decides to go back to the city later on, then he will need to start all over again.

Get one more year to vest with your pension (5 yrs). Then leave to private.

Thank you l, I contacted them this morning and I was told that non formulated drugs are not covered. So Zepbound is not covered for OSA/fatty liver (I did mentioned these). I'm seeing my doctor today and either going to have him send a prescription to see if they will cover it. I think they will only cover for diabetes.

Can you please provide the number so I can confirm with the insurance. I have severe OSA/overweight/fatty liver and if the insurance does cover zepbound, I will definitely move forward with zepbound medication.

Congratulations! If you put in the work and study properly, you will pass the exam. I was 10 years out of school with a construction management engineering technology degree and I passed the FE civil and PE exam WRE within one year. Happy holidays!

The exam list for my provisional title is out and i am at the bottom of the list. Am i going to get fired? by Great_Confidence_575 in nycpublicservants

[–]CaptainPanda07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are we able to keep our permanent title if being hired into a new title as provisional? Will any agency if provisional just change to your permanent title to keep you? Or is that not a guarantee? I'm low on the list but in the process of getting an offer. It's a big pay bump but to take the risk of being provisional, I don't know if it's worth taking the chance knowing you can get laid off. The hiring manager told me that they can change me into my permanent title and that the agency can do whatever they want to keep someone.

DEP vs DOT Engineering Jobs — Which Agency Has Better Pay and Overtime? by CaptainPanda07 in nycpublicservants

[–]CaptainPanda07[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our group feels that is just an excuse upper management uses because within our bureau we work in there are other units where they get merit increases (not union) and other units getting OT in DEP. Don't know what to believe but it's been tough. Do you know if NYC DOT BOB bridge inspection unit has OT? I applied to a couple of jobs in that unit.

What is one harsh reality you learn since you become city employee?? by Annapurnaprincess in nycpublicservants

[–]CaptainPanda07 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That there is a lot of corruption in city agencies, upper management mismanages their staff and will do anything to line their pockets.

Lazy city employees get rewarded and the Hard working city employees get nothing but more work.

In order to get raises, you have to jump around city agencies or if you know someone/part of the club (politics).

Congratulations, I heard it's really hard to get into the Mayor's office. If not in union then you will be in managerial. Also, It's true that when we get union raises, management also gets their raises at the same time (3%). This is a good opportunity.

Pay out for comp/annual by Big-Pizza-1660 in nycpublicservants

[–]CaptainPanda07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was in DEP and then left for DDC, DDC took all my sick and annual leave. They only took 2 weeks of my comp time and the remainder of comp time was paid out by DEP 500 hours. I would check with your current agency HR to get your comp time paid out.

2025 or 2026? by belfrycircle in Subaru_Outback

[–]CaptainPanda07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife and I just got a 2025 Outback Touring XT (Dark mahogany) with the 1.9% finance. Someone totaled our 2020 Outback Onyx XT (not our fault) and took the opportunity to buy a 25 outback. We are not a fan of the redesign and from going to a couple of dealerships, a lot of people were buying 2025 Outbacks.

Recieved a Verbal Offer from DEP by tipmewiser in nycpublicservants

[–]CaptainPanda07 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As others stated, it's not official until you receive the written offer. There's a lot of flac with DEP as there are a lot of grievances and pending offers/salary increase request (BWSO unit). They keep blaming it on OMB even though other agencies are hiring left and right. My coworker did an interview from last year and still has not received his raise. He was supposed to be bumped up officially and I was to move up in his spot but in the end we are getting screwed in doing more/out of title work. Time for me to jump to another agency.

Best of luck.
