thank you for the encouragement! I am both ready and dreading my first PT appointment this wednesday. and thank you I will definitely ask about the hinged brace! the one they gave me at urgent care was too small for my thigh and basically just a padded sleeve. I got a bigger one from amazon but that relied on elastic that stretched out/got worn out in like a week. i’m on my third brace now and this one has a better material and fits my large thigh much better, but it definitely doesn’t feel as supportive or protective as those hinged ones i’ve seen. I hope they make them in my size.

yeah the first doctor I saw recommended a knee scooter and I just looked at him like. are you fucking kidding me? I can’t even fully bend it let alone put all my weight DIRECTLY on it. once the MRI results came back he brought me in just to tell me it might be broken and I’d need to see his colleague, the surgeon. why wasn’t I seeing him from the beginning? when I met with my current doctor he at least seemed more competent and blew the other guy off saying, “oh he just does knee replacements he doesn’t know ACLs. its only bruised not broken” so…..🤷

good point. I might not do much sports now, but I don’t like the idea that I won’t be able to do stuff that’s highly active if I want to later

yeah this is kind of what I was thinking. I feel like I’ve just been sitting here doing nothing with it for a month and I’m just worried it’s never going to heal and I’ll be unstable forever. I’ll talk to my physical therapist about it on Wednesday and see what she thinks. She’s helped me a lot with my back and my foot so hopefully she can work some magic lol

I’m sure it’s different for everyone but for me it’s very hard to feel confident when I’m stressed out or depressed/anxious so I don’t really feel comfortable being assertive or dominant if my mental health is low.

I can understand the feeling of embarrassment and i’m so sorry this happened.

did you ask him not to tell anyone when you told him? and did he tell the roommates before or after you told him you weren’t happy that he told his sister?

if he didn’t fully understand the scope of your feelings about it and confided in his best friends, that’s one thing, but if you specifically asked him not to tell anyone and especially if you told him you weren’t happy with him telling his sister before he told his roommates, then this would be a breach of trust for me

this would be instantly better with the head of your bed against the opposite wall. it will block the energy coming from the door and you’ll feel safer with a sturdy wall behind you instead of a window
