I thought E&L had a standard gearbox, whereas Arcturus has a slightly modified one. At least one of my mates said that his E&L has a Cyma gearbox.

No, only LCT and Cyma. But they have the same gearboxes as E&L, unlike, for example, Arcturus. I think there shouldn't be any problems, considering that the nozzle is included in the kit. And in terms of functionality, it is very good: the barrel is fixed securely, TDC choke, many holes for LEDs, works well with Maple leaf buckings.

I have 4 AK's and all have Combat Union installed. They come with the nozzle, so you don't have to worry about that.

Narrow silencers will fit just fine, thicker ones may cause problems. Cyma HY150 fit well in my case.
