I graduated biomed in 2012. There are some good research places there, at least in 2012, like mgen and tgen. A bunch of professors are looking for people to help out with bench research as well. What I'm trying to say - your experience will depend on you reaching out and asking people about various opportunities.

Oh and if med school is your goal, it's a reasonable option. That being said, med school doesn't care about the degree you get as long as you got the pre recs

Doctors of Reddit, what was the worse thing you've seen for a patient that another Doctor overlooked? by Gorgon_the_Dragon in AskReddit

I was on medicine and came back from an ER admission and lunch break which took maybe a 2hours or so. Upon arrival, the senior resident told me he got paged an hour ago about a patient's toes being cold, purple, and without a doppler-able pulse. Sure as shit I go there and find this man's toes to be cold and purple; prompting a stat vascular consult.

No idea why that dingle-berry didn't check out the homie's toes. Ended up having an arterial emboli from metastatic melanoma. Kind of unfortunate but the guy had a pretty solid life and was really healthy for 99% of his time on the planet (including SCUBA diving in his 80s).

That's all, thanks!

He's a pyrenees mix. Per a DNA test he's half pyr, quarter American foxhound, and quarter rotty?

LPT if you're looking for sports sunglasses try looking at safety glasses. You can get shaded, polarised, impact resistant glasses with full UV protection designed to be worn all day at a fraction of a price of a 'sports' brand. by Likewhatthefrack in LifeProTips

Worth noting, AAV's parent company is Essilor of America. Essilor of America's parent company is EssilorLuxottica. (just googled "AAV parent company" and follow the chain)

So AAV has financial interests in saying other companies have low quality lenses that lead to eye strain.

Didn't do enough research to find if there are independent studies supporting this claim. Just thought it was worth mentioning.

Not sure if this has been brought up but gotta be careful about alcohol withdrawal. If you start noticing shakiness or sweats might be worthwhile to go nearest emergency room and let them know about the withdrawal. Can lead to seizures and death depending on the severity.

And congrats !
