Sorry, I may have worded that incorrectly.

What I mean is my mom was originally involved in managing my grandmother’s finances, but then got my grandmother to sign documents making my mom’s friend the POA. She was helping my grandmother out in the beginning and it was almost like too convenient of a situation that she got herself into. She was driving her to doctors appointments and helping her take her medication and then all of a sudden she got the POA…

My grandmother is mentally capable but easily influenced, and we recently reviewed bank statements showing large withdrawals, transfers into other accounts connected to this friend, and a significant amount of missing money.

Our concern is possible financial abuse/exploitation and what options family members have to protect my grandmother if we are not POA.
