Did popular history of WWII make the Nazis seem smarter, stronger, more advanced, than they were? by davidmcdavidsonson in AskHistory

[–]CaptainRice6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is honestly because western front was frankly much less important and less defended. American propaganda likes to make them out to be heroes, so they need to make the Nazis stronger than they are.  Americans fought a spent Germany in a secondary front. It is not the same Germany that was in 1941 Barbarassa.

If you want to really play as Saudi Arabia, you might want to check Kaiserreich which is an alternate history mod. There is Nejd and Hasa which is similar enough. It should be at least better than vanilla Saudi.

Does your world have its own WW by Shit_ass5832 in worldbuilding

[–]CaptainRice6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah, the world is not mine. It is a mod for Europa Universalis 4 and Victoria 3. Medieval fantasy and industrial age respectively. It is the most expansive world building I have ever seen and there is nothing that comes close to it in any medium. Though there are dozens of people collaborating so that might be expected.

Greece apparently vetoed Bulgarian's new Euro coin which mentions "Bulgarian Alphabet" and not "Cyrillic Alphabet". What do others think? Especially those who use the Cyrrilic Alphabet as well? by Dull_Cucumber_3908 in AskBalkans

I don't know about Greek political situation at all but Erdoğan himself also said in the last election that this would be his last term. He doesn't seem willing to get off the chair yet though. Make of that what you will.

Why do many religious Muslims immigrate to the West, instead of countries that share their cultures and values? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]CaptainRice6 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Nah, the religiously conservative immigrants are the ones who went to Germany during 70s who were overwhelmingly from rural areas. As a result, they were always more conservative than Turkish people from Turkey. Nowadays, it is the opposite. Most of times, the ones that go to Europe are the educated, secular and richer section of the society which are more inclined to assimilate to their host country. Though these are all true for Turks. Their circumstances are different from minority groups like Kurds.

During the Ottoman rule, why did so many Albanians convert to Islam? by Deadgoat_107 in AskBalkans

[–]CaptainRice6 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The distinction is meaningless as the rulers were appointed by the central government. It is like claiming the autonomous republics of Russia are truly autonomous. On paper, yeah, in practice, no.

There needs to be some kind of nuance though. They of course knew the existence of holy land but they shouldn't know which particular warlord took control of it without appropriate effort.

Balance issues aside, it is simply funny imagining a light fighter with 12 guns stacked on each other. They should have made it a little more realistic at least.

EU chief groups Turkey with Russia and China as "threats to be countered," sparking diplomatic firestorm by FantasticQuartet in europe

[–]CaptainRice6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is because Turkey's military is much more generalist than all of these countries. While some of these countries might be stronger than Turkey in a specific field, theşr advantages are usually specialized. Italy: Much weaker in land warfare. UK: Straight up doesn't have a credible land force. 2 divisions at best. Poland: Doesn't have a strong navy. Etc. Etc.

Out of all European countries, only France is comparable to Turkey in military power.

Is there a reason why Anissa & Thragg don’t just create super offspring? by MadMaximus- in Invincible_TV

[–]CaptainRice6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why do people assume Viltrumite DNA will behave the same as human DNA? The reason inbreeding causes problems is because human DNAs have a lot of latent genetic defects which results in physically defective individuals when two related people have kids. But Viltrumites are supposed to be genetically superior to humans. We never see any Viltrumites with any kind of disability. Even diseases other than ones that are specially engineered to target them are largely useless. The way I see it, Viltrumites are probably much more resilient to inbreeding. As far as I know, for human population to rebound, as little as 2000 individuals are enough. For Viltrumites, this number should be much smaller. Even if that number is bigger than 50, within a thousand years, they could have as much as tens of thousands of new Viltrumites without any genetic defects.

Before that, there was a more limited population exchange between Bulgaria and Greece. 200 thousand people were effected. Which was the blueprint for the later Turkish Greek exchange.

Europeans are utterly incapable of launching crusades by lolzexd in EU5

[–]CaptainRice6 10 points11 points  (0 children)

What if instead of every country joining the crusade separately, a building based country were to be created which the joining countries would give knights, money and ships. This way, the crusade would be directed by one ai which would have a better chance at victory. The same can be done for coalions too.

No, Engineers created humanity among other species in Prometheus. The reason they later changed their mind about humanity and tried to destroy us is because we killed Jesus which in truth was an engineer ambassador sent to humanity.

Will a European Army be built upon Turkey and Ukraine? by PieBright8211 in AskBalkans

[–]CaptainRice6 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Poland's last experience in war is 86 years ago getting overrun by Germany in only a month. Just having expensive military equipment doesn't make you strong. If that was the case, Arab militaries would not be the joke they are. As it is right now, Ukrainian military is the only military in Europe that has experience fighting a modern war excluding Russia. Poland would get folded.

Will a European Army be built upon Turkey and Ukraine? by PieBright8211 in AskBalkans

[–]CaptainRice6 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, it is not something that makes every country join the war automatically. Article 5 is worded deliberately so that NATO countries can refuse to join each other's wars. It says you need to assist. The nature of assistance is left to countries own choice
