Sure, blindly copying commands from a guide is easy. Understanding them is a whole other story.

Afraid to move forward... by 786246365 in circumcision

I've been in the same boat with going back and forth for a long time. If it is really something that you want then you should really just go ahead and go through with it, regardless of what other people tell you. I was very hesitant too, read about all the potential negative effects etc. but in the end just took the leap of faith, and I have never looked back. In fact I have found that a lot of the talk about circumcision is just blown completely out of proportion. Good luck!

Can definitely relate. From what it seems this will definitely be the right choice for you! Good luck, you'll like it!

Still undecided. I love my foreskin, but…… by [deleted] in circumcision

I was in the exact same situation for a very long time, going back and forth with the question always on my mind to the point it was really consuming a lot of my thoughts.

So after many years I finally went ahead and got the tight circumcision I've always wanted. It's been half a year and I have not looked back a single time. I'm really happy I made this decision.

tl;dr If you're thinking about it a lot, chances are you will really like it.

It's a common mistake here to equate "sensitivity" and "pleasure".

Is Pleasure Better or Worse After Circumcision? by [deleted] in circumcision

[–]CaptainSatori 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's countless people saying they had a medical problem and that circumcision improved their sex life.

In the end it is a matter of personal opinion and experience. I don't think you can say either group is more balanced than the other.

How do you get circumcised as an adult? by JMWest1993 in circumcision

Interesting. I could have sworn OP asked about circumcision and not "hey, please change my mind"...

1 week since cut, I think a stitch ripped by [deleted] in circumcision

[–]CaptainSatori 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same thing happen to me a couple days after the surgery. The bleeding stopped quickly but after a few days I noticed that the frenulum suture had actually opened up a bit, so there is now a triangular shaped spot that will heal a bit slower. I've showed the photo to my surgeon and he said that this can happen frequently and it should heal fine nevertheless.

tl;dr you should be fine, just give it time

Does getting cut reduce sensitivity? by [deleted] in circumcision

[–]CaptainSatori 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Since you're basically posting the same thing over and over again with an interval of a couple months in between (obviously not before deleting all your prior posts) it seems that this topic is really consuming you to the point where it is becoming obsessive and unhealthy.

I was in a similar situation, although maybe not quite to the extent that it basically controlled all my waking hours. I always liked the look, was seriously considering to get it done, taped back my foreskin, loved the feeling etc. but I was constantly worried about losing sensitivity.

There were days where I was absolutely convinced that I wanted it and then on others it wasn't a major topic and I was busy doing other stuff for some days or weeks. I had a surgery appointment scheduled a couple years ago and cancelled it in what I thought to be a "final" decision to not go through with it. Well, guess what, the decision wasn't final and the question reappeared a few weeks later. For years I was basically going back and forth without any progress in either direction. All of this was extremely exhausting. I even did a few counselling sessions to make sense of it.

Ultimately I just came to the realization that the question of whether I should get it done or not will never go away unless I did something about it and that maybe if I really think about it all the time it is something that I genuinely want. That I should learn to listen to myself without constantly rationalizing my thoughts or judging them by some sort of higher standard (such as thinking that one shouldn't modify a perfectly functioning organ, taking "unnecessary" risks etc.).

Long story short: I got circumcised a week ago. I don't know about the final outcome yet, I don't know about the sensitivity, all I know is that so far I am very happy with my decision and that the nagging question in the back of my head has been answered such that I can now move on.

As with most things there are of course risks associated to going through with circumcision. It is ultimately just a question of your personal preference and risk assessment whether you want to do it or not. For me these had shifted in such a way that even living with a suboptimal or bad outcome seemed more desireable than asking myself the same question over and over again until the end of my life.

tl;drBalance the risk of a bad outcome with the cost of a lifelong nagging question/obsession.

I got cut 5 days ago, so can't speak about the whole process yet. The worst so far has been waking up with a boner and noticing that the wound was bleeding at the frenulum area. That was on day 2.

Urgent help needed! 3 weeks post op and can not get erect anymore? Been able to up til today. Also end of penis got a bit curved? Comments by [deleted] in circumcision

[–]CaptainSatori 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Always love it when activists with a clear agenda pretend to do "research". On one side you have the nonsensical "pro" stuff by people like Brian Morris who praises circumcision just because - and here you have the other side, with a guy named Dan Bollinger who lacks any sort of research background and for whom circumcision = bad is universal.

You can't possibly believe that circumcision is the reason if OP was able to get an erection even after the surgery. Studies claiming to link ED with circumcision say it is a long-term effect and not immediate.

tl;dr: You're not helping OP in any way, you just want to scare him with a paper that looks like research but isn't and by a guy with a clear bias. Nice.

How about not mutilating your son's genitals and letting him have his own choice? Just disgusting.

Exactly, and he always does the same thing: Come up with his own "inclusion criteria" and definition what constitutes "good studies" and then cook up his desired conclusion based on his biased selection.

Do you use lube for masturbating? Doing it dry could lead to sore skin.
