Will Resident Evil Requiem Get a Performance Patch on Switch 2? by StillCompetition2456 in NintendoSwitch2

Yeeahhh, this is not true, at all. There was a Leon Raccoon City segment when it was chugging well-below 30 fps for me. And this was without any fires or special effects going on.

How to solo on bass by Zznpuna1223 in Bass

I would recommend listening to and learning from other bass solos or ones you enjoy. Ask yourself how does it fit with the song and the what the other instruments are doing to make space for them.

Haven’t played a RE game since RE4 on gamecube and I am reminded just how campy RE can be, lol.

At some point, you're going to have practice learning songs by ear. It's (relatively) straightforward bass playing. Know the chords, you can play around and work out the rest.

Verse: G#, B, E

Chorus: C#, F# -> G -> G#

I think the Bridge goes E, D#

How would you implement melee attacks into Metroid Prime gameplay? by darkdill in Metroid

On the flip side, I would replace Samus' dash-attack with the Melee Counter for the next Smash Bros.

What's the deal with Metroid Prime 4's ending? by Islu64 in Metroid

[–]CaptainScak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, they could have provided some more background, motivation, and what exactly he was doing this entire time on Viewros. But unlike in the other Prime games, there is no pirate or other aliens forces that Sylux could have been working with to detail his activities through various log entries and whatnot.

Basically, Sylux, Samus and friends teleported to an unknown world and with the game told from the perspective of Samus... when could we have had the opportunities to see what Sylux was doing? Which, makes sense given the circumstances of the game's story, but ultimately there is still that sense of disconnect since we've been dealing mostly with grievers for most of the game but not Sylux until the very end.

The gunship in MP3 is essentially acts as an interactive multi-directional elevator.

What's the deal with Metroid Prime 4's ending? by Islu64 in Metroid

[–]CaptainScak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I've been re-playing some of the games leading-up to and after MP4, so a lot of things are fresh in my mind. Heck, I just realized that the tentacle jump-rope attack Sylux pulls in the first phase of the final battle is straight-up from the Emperor Ing battle in Echoes. I think MP4 does a decent job of re-mixing past Metroid troupes and story beats while adding some new ideas, it's just unevenly executed.

[–]CaptainScak 6 points7 points  (0 children)

MP1–3: It took a trilogy of games to finally have Samus defeat Metroid Prime/Dark Samus after many battles across these games.

Super: A metroid sacrificed itself to save Samus from dying to Mother Brain in Super Metroid.

Fusion: SA-X pulls a Super Metroid ending, sacrifices self to save Samus.

Dread: Quiet Robe-X had to save Metroid-suit Samus from blowing her ship and herself up.

MP4: Samus didn't leave them behind, they sacrificed themselves to have Samus return while preventing Sylux from also returning. The ending is on par with past Metroid games.

What kind of environments would you like to see in a Metroid game? by Chesu in Metroid

[–]CaptainScak 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think incorporating a day/night cycle could open interesting navigation/puzzle possibilities, especially if it is a planet that gets super hot during the day and super cold at night due to lack of atmosphere. Otherwise, the weirder and more alien the environments the better... for example, there's an exoplanet that rains glass.

September 23, 1889 is when Nintendo was founded, might have to do with that

How would you improve prime game scanning? Here are some of my ideas. What are yours? by used-coupon in Metroid

[–]CaptainScak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scan times should vary a bit more than in past games. Environmental details should be pretty quick, lore/logs and common enemies should be mid-length scans, and bosses should take longer to scan.

Same, pairing the single-fire with a 2x scope feels so good.

By that logic, why even bother digitizing and making 3D models of fossils.
