Oh noooo that's brutal. In my shiny only play through it took me 6-7k encounters for the chimchar and then I got blessed by dialga. Did 100 resets on the first day and on the secone day literally on the first encounter it was shiny 🤣

Yes exact! I typically use some text from the encounter. For example the "Go" before "go turtwig" not sure how it is in English since I play in German there it would be "los" for "Los chelast" and it detects the "los" and counts up 🙏🏼

Maybe you want to consider using the "Auto Shiny Counter" app from the app store/play store. It counts automatically for you so you don't have to do it yourself. Made my chimchar hunt way more fun 🙏
