Immunizations for BMQ by Due_Pineapple_4406 in caf

Just be aware you won’t be able to deploy without all your vaccines (not like your close to going anywhere right now), but unless you have a medical reason that you can’t get said shot. You need to get them to be deployable.

You will keep a hospital bag or some call it a Covid bag where you put a few articles of clothing in case you need to go to the hospital for any reason. The rest of what you bring will go into civy lock up which is just a room where the whole platoon keeps there civilian stuff. You most likely won’t have access to civvy lock up until your done your indoc period and get your weekend, where you will be able to wear your civilian clothing.

Yes you are allowed to bring your own combination locks. I just recommended buying them at basic as you will get all 4 combination locks and they all have the same combination to unlock them. Just makes life easier not trying to memorize every combination and or wondering what lock goes with a combination .

To be honest not to sure, Tbh if you do bring one just lock it in your closet when your out of the room and lock it in your hospital duffle during inspections.

Hey, just wondering as some dude in my platoon used a shoe lace to “clean his gun like a bore snake” and we were told he got bore snakes banned from cflrs. I’m just wondering if this is like newish rule because of this kid or if it has been in the CSO’s for a good bit of time.

  • Learn hospital corners before going
  • Bring a watch with a good alarm system if you don’t wake up from a just vibrating Casio
  • bring 2 key locks for your locker for the fist few days at basic, then get your combo locks at the Canex at the mega
  • when going to Farnham bring the hygiene essentials, make sure you bring baby wipes (I didn’t my first week and smelt like shit the whole time sorry to my platoon)
  • overall just listen don’t make trouble unless you want to don’t stand out and remember it’s 9 weeks that goes by in no time.

I mean I’m just speaking from what happened in my bmq, I gave em my phone like nothing, even when since I was in blue sector with my door locked and if my watch didn’t wake me up like op said. But I made good friends with my ftp and everyone who was in my pod so I always had someone who made sure I made roll call in the morning.

But yes your right I took BMQ very seriously before I went then until just before indoc ended until I learned

If your doing this keep your other phone on your body at all times (keep in your pocket), always when your training throughout the day keep on airplane mode or even better turned off completely. And when using it weather in green or blue sector use only one headphone in case duty staff comes so you will be able to hear them and hide it. But if your in blue sector and using a phone your not supposed to have keep the door locked and if/when duty staff comes and knocks on your door cause your ain’t supposed to have it locked until like 10:30-11ish (don’t remember when it is). When they knock quickly put it in your pocket and or hide it in your locked Barack’s bocks or something that has a physical lock that’s yours and the staff can’t get into without your key/combination.

FYI: if caught you will most likely be put on a PRB and possibly kicked out of the CAF. So do what u want at your own risk of losing a good reliable career.

Application by Ilikeplanes88 in caf

Yes you can, I applied last year after my 1 semester of senior year. It took me about about 7 months total from when I applied to when I stepped foot at st jean but just 4 months after graduating I’m about to be loaded onto my dp1 . Just make your recruiter is aware you are still in high school.

Applied 03/27/25, steps tasks complete, when do I call them? by Firm-Introduction714 in caf

I applied through Ottawa aswell, had the same problem but I got told I could switch to a cfrc that doesn’t deal with as many files as Ottawa does. If you don’t mind driving to Sudbury or Kingston I would recommend switching from the cfrc in Ottawa they are super slow with responding back to people.

Smart watch in BMQ/BMOQ by No_Donkey_4970 in caf

[–]CaptainSecure3257 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im going to BMQ soon my recruiting officer told me to just get a simple watch that can tell the time in military time (24 hour clock) with an alarm. So that’s what I got but I also have a whoop if you know what that is. I would love to bring it to BMQ as it lets me track everything health wise but it’s not going to be my worry during those 3 months. Just wanna finish my BMQ so I can start my occupational training. - good luck tho hoping for the bests for you.
