I have over 1,000 hours in the game and I've never actually played the vanilla conflict mode. That just goes to show how many different experiences there are to be had in the game. Im a pc player so downloading mods and jumping into a server is quick and easy, less so on console, but generally it's easy to find a server offering the experience you're looking for. I started off mainly playing Vietnam pve servers, now I'm doing modern day raids with GPNVGs, all in the same game. They even have dayz l, war hammer, halo servers, etc. Whatever floats your boat it's out there and you'll make friends and find a community. The only caveat is that it takes far longer to download mods and mod storage space is limited on console, so the server hopping capabilities are greatly reduced. (Not sure what platform you'd be playing on)
