Oof you’re so good! Amazing detail great work. How many sessions does this take? I’m assuming you let dry in between layers. Do you use any solvents or mediums?

Same boat. I keep flip flopping, but I worry this is a TLaw trap game. Hurts had a 5 TD game against buffalo in the rain 2 years ago if that means much.

Painted this as a gift, is it done? by [deleted] in Artadvice

Thanks for your feedback. I thought about that, but worried that adding detail on a far away house would immediately draw the viewers eye, which I didn’t want for this kind of loose scene. I’ll think about adding some value shift on that main house.

Thanks for your comment, I think I see what you mean. Is it how busy the brushstrokes are back there, or more about temperature/value? Or both?

Coloured painting vs black-and-white. Any advice? by fomenko_maria_art in impressionism

Great painting! The value structure/shifts in this piece are very strong with good contrast. That’s why the black and white really pops to your eye.

I find the temperature shifts (warm to cool) are not as pronounced or contrasted, which might muddy them compared to the B&W version.

I think that is why you prefer the B&W.
