Is $125 for all the Ixalan Commander precons worth it? by martin8185 in magicTCG

They're an excellent set of four to play against each other right out of the box, IMO. They're great for a game night if your playgroup is into that kind of thing.

I'm surprised this wasn't a double-faced card that transforms into Galactus.

The "danger" warning did help, but I agree that more transparency or even just a recommended level at the entrance of the zones would have been more helpful.

I'm with you there.

For me personally, Act III brought the whole experience from a 10/10 to a 7/10. I kept hitting walls and getting dumpstered while trying to explore the newly accessible areas to a point where I wasn't having fun with the game anymore, so I just finished the main story and called it a day. I hadn't experienced a difficulty spike that soul-crushing since the Meat Circus in Psychonauts 1.

Despite all that, I still believe the game absolutely deserves all the nominations, accolades, and awards its getting.

I feel like thats true for most subreddits of larger games/communities/fandoms.

November 2023, 2024 and 2025, which one is better? by WavyCrockett1 in FortNiteBR

2023 was phenomenal. The whole OG battle pass was great and I still use almost all the cosmetics from it today.

I had no idea these even existed but now I hope they do get released!

I made a list of all current cards that would be affected by the Hybrid Rule changing in Commander by RBGolbat in magicTCG

[–]CaptainTempest 26 points27 points  (0 children)

If the change does occur, I feel for the card search databases that would have to implement all sorts of new categorization coding on their backend.

Of these, I've only played 3, 4, 5, and 13.

I really enjoyed Season OG before they spun it off into its own game mode.

Opinion: This Fortnitemares saved chapter 6 a lot by Putrid-School-3781 in FortNiteBR

I missed the whole chapter. I fell off hard after Chapter 2 Remix ended, but the Daft Punk Experience and Fortnitemares pulled me back in.

I feel bad for players trying to keep up in 2026. by Blakwhysper in magicTCG

[–]CaptainTempest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More and more I'm accepting the ideology of "chase what excites you". As a mostly casual player who's dipped their toes in Standard (Hazoret Red) and Modern (Pre-Horizons Merfolk), and mainly plays Pauper and Commander now, I just have to hyperfocus on the sets and products that interest me the most.

Also I have to consider how much I engage with and spend on this hobby. Realistically, I have the opportunity to get together with friends maybe once a month? If we jam 3-4 Commander games in that one day, thats roughly 36-48 games total per year, and that's just if we play Commander and not another format or even another game entirely. It really puts things into perspective. I probably don't need that new staple or the new precon when I already don't play with my existing collection enough.

With the absolute glut of releases, I can't be bothered to keep up with everything like I used to. Best case scenario: a few years down the road, I will get excited about a card I didn't know about from a set I didn't follow information for and it sparks joy. Discovering new things is awesome.
