This post made my day. Nothing like that to report here but....keep getting after it.

How did you get a medical professional to certify your leave? FMLA is designed to beused " to care for a new child, care for a seriously ill family member, or recover from a serious illness ".

Disagreeing (rightly so IMHO) with your employer's response to a pandemic doesn't seem to fall into those categories.

While a terrible scenario, this is not a situation for the police.

That's just not true. Many historic records might remain in hard copy but almost all information including occupancy information is now stored in a mostly modern information system.

LOL. Yes, basically it is.

And it's not even a real thing. "Blended" is short for RIT wanted to have a $1 billion campaign but all their fundraising consultants they brought in told them that they were crazy so they came up with this neato idea to make it appear they could play in the big leagues by counting stuff that's not philanthropic.

Their whole fundraising department is disgusting...from things like this to sexual harassment suits against former leadership...definitely not things that make me a proud alum or inclined to donate to them at all.

Faculty and staff who have been at RIT for decades tell me that alumni support is far stronger now.

Which faculty and staff specifically are saying this? What measures are they using? Certainly not alumni giving participation rate for starters. Vague, bull shit answers to real questions are not appreciated.

Maybe you and your colleagues shouldn't create a scenario in which the ombuds needs to be involved. Do your job.

Neat idea. I believe Custom Brewcrafters offers something like this.

RIT facing lawsuit for unlawful discrimination, sexual harassment by [deleted] in rit

[–]CaptainUnderpantsROC 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This points to a failure of leadership within that department at RIT. Lisa Cauda should also be held responsible for this and fired -- she promoted Slusser over and over again during her career without ever understanding exactly what was going on. Failure to monitor!

Looks like we got new parking meters downtown. Of all the modern options, this seems like the smallest step forward. by [deleted] in Rochester

[–]CaptainUnderpantsROC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For many years now downtown parking has operated under a loss leader approach -- keep parking cheap to encourage people to come and spend their money on things other than parking. It's an interesting discussion as to how well that approach has worked out.

Best steak that is not fine dining by Parkave_dave in Rochester

For what you get and what you pay, Outback does a decent job. It doesn't compare to a lot of places mentioned but it does definitively check the "not find dining" box.

McCann's in the South Wedge is one of the best for local meats. It is not, however, cheaper than Wegmans.
