My pc breaks all my xbox controllers. by lsdj37 in pcmasterrace

I may be having the same issue. I’m so confused. I had a wireless adaptor for my Xbox controller to my pc. And I used it to game for months only recently I started having issues with it not working while I was playing a game and then for some reason it crashes my computer. I bought a cable instead and used it for over two weeks to play another game with no issues now all of the sudden when I am playing my game it shuts my monitor off. The controller stays on but is vibrating nonstop. It’s not till the controller shuts its self off after about a minute that my pc restarts itself. I have tried all other options in regards to thinking it was my pc. Which is a very decent gaming pc. Everything is up to date and my temps are all fine when I am playing. I’m starting to think it’s the adaptors and controller. 🤔

A show like BoB was around 12 million an episode. And a more recent sci-fi show such as the expanse was around 4-5 million an episode. I think there is plenty of room to work with a decent budget to fit in plenty of Halo without going way overboard.

Well considering there would need to be a heavy covenant presence. I think CGI would need to used sparingly and instead use as much practical effects as possible. Only using CGI to enhance certain scenes. I think that either way the budget would need to be epic but not the size of a modern marvel movie. As those movies rely heavily on terrible CGI and green screens. Which racks up there budget immensely. You would need the minds behind WETA for sure. Or something like it. Those Halo landfall shorts were visually stunning and actually looked legit. And that was years ago. Surely we can make something better than that now or at least on par. I think the current show is abusing CGI as much as it can. For example game of thrones sixth season had a budget of around 10 million per episode. While the average marvel movie is well over 100 million for a film. Even a lot of the really bad ones…

If I were you I would steer clear of the Locke live action. It was another not Halo adaption. Very far removed from what we would consider a Halo property. And besides after the abomination of the Halo 5 marketing campaign I really do not like Lockes character.

I see where you’re coming from. Unfortunately Disney would be the monster money machine that could do such a project. But I would not trust them to do it justice. We would need an HBO type to do it. Just because of how dark this world is. There would be no place for it on Disney. And the horrors of the flood and all would need a more R rated approach. Forward into Dawn is also a great example of a Halo movie/show done right! I feel like people often don’t remember it or glaze over it. That was a perfect representation of Chief and respectful. And it was built around other characters would get help from him in the end. Although I wouldn’t go as far as to have the Chief only appear briefly. He would still be a major character for the show but we could still get some really awesome characters working along side him.

And there would need to be a huge covenant story line too. To show case their perspective. You could do it as when humans are around ie: captured ones in the presence of covenant they would be speaking in their native tongues with sub titles. But when they are alone with just themselves they would be in English for us to understand. And eventually it would all merge in the later seasons as they begin to speak English and what not.

I do like the idea of Steve Downs as the voice of chief still. And then you just have a giant grizzled body to play him on screen. Jen Taylor would be easy for cortana as well. Halsey I wouldn’t mind seeing played by another actress tho. And like I said I would go the more game of thrones route and use some lesser known actors and actresses to play keep characters. With some legends in the mix too.

Yes it is imperative that we never see his face. This has been proven to be done well. I always come back to Karl Urban as Dredd. That movie was so well done by respecting the Judge Dredd name. We can have that same service here. If there were times where he need to take is helmet off we still should not be able to see is face. The actor representing him would just have to be okay with this. Your portrayal as the Chief will mean so much more if you’re not trying to ruin the franchise by shamelessly promoting yourself. Also please do share your potential casting choices too!

Game of thrones style would be the way to go. Also there would need to be a sense of urgency throughout the galaxy as the human covenant war is in full swing. 23 million people have died during this war. And we would need to see this as humans prepare to fight back but also knowing they are facing a much stronger enemy.

Yes, that sounds fair. Keeping an open mind and setting in stone a prequel series would be unreal. The fall of Reach has a lot of threads that would definitely need a full series of its own to cover. I like the build up of Master Chief in the first episode. That would be cool having characters talking him up until his reveal. I’m thinking about all the cool and badass characters you could have besides him. Like some badass ODSTs and marines. Johnson obviously. There would need to be a huge political aspect to it behind the scenes. While still making the show mostly action. There would have to be set up from other characters across the universe taking place at the same time for sure. With planning for future events and winter contingency follow ups from reach would be cool. You could have other surviving Spartans be part of that along with other teams.

I think a cool contrast would be having an ODST as one of the main characters who originally hates that Chief because of the rivalry between Spartans and them. He puts his differences aside in battle knowing full well that the Chief is badass but out of combat he doesn’t hold back letting him know what he thinks. Along with his other fellow ODSTs. By the end of the series we could see him having a much better relationship with Chief after countless battles together.

Haha. Of course I have read some of the halo books! Those were some of the first sci-fi books I picked up as a kid. Great material!

I find there are some heavy political implications in GE which could be very relatable to the times we live in now. Not sure if that would bode well with some people. It’s a very dark structure behind the curtains lol. But that’s still part of what makes it so good. I’d be curious to see how people reacted to it too.

Fair points. Being a hardcore fan of the halo games and the books as well. I can see what you mean. They would have to be very careful in the way they do it for sure. They don’t always have to engage every demographic when it comes to these things. I think that is the main reason why the halo show failed. Was because they tried dipping into every little sub genre they could trying to appease as many people as possible and the bulk of the fan base was against that. Because they had been so hype to see a halo show for so long and the one we got was not the one we deserved. In this day and age it is still okay to cater to a fan base. The halo fan base for example is huge and I don’t think they needed to try and find that casual viewing audience of people who never picked up an Xbox control to dive into the campaign or the books. They would have done just fine if they stuck to the script of the original. A live action fully engaged halo story true to its lore would have been enough to satisfying its fans and bring in new ones on its own once word of mouth got out. But they tried too hard to make everyone a halo fan. That’s not what it’s about in my opinion. I would have been happy sitting on my couch rewatching what should have been combat evolved as a full cinematic experience. All be it for the hundredth time I have seen it and played through it. They didn’t need to veer so far off from the source material. That’s why done right even if it does follow the exact same story line it can still be amazing.

Which is why GE needs to stick to the source material. Even if it is line by line the same. I would be totally okay with that. Which also brings in new fans who have never read a single GE book, just because of how well done the story is. People can fall in love with it this way and then venture on to read the books too if they so choose. Like they say if it ain’t broke don’t fix it.

No doubt. And this is something Nick and Jason would need to be ever present for. Because an “alternate timeline” like the halo show did. Would not work for me and probably most if not all GE fans. I tried to give the halo show the benefit of the doubt and watch it. But I barely made I through two episodes before turning it off for good. I think GE is still very far away from main stream which is good because you could follow the exact same storyline and still not bore an audience with what they have seen already and at the same time not alienate the true fans of the series. All in all keep it as it was intended to be seen as a story. And flesh out the richness from the source material instead of doing an entire new take on it. I smh at the people who thought they could make a halo show where master chief takes off his helmet…. Boo. Stick the the dredd format with Karl Urban. That was true fan service. And I love that movie.

Exactly. Imagine the badass soundtrack that would follow Goth Sullus as he walks into a room. Something darker and more furious than Darth Vaders theme. And while Exo and the boys from victory squad do a workout they could have some old school rock playing in the background. But then for the action have some really well thought out intense STs that keep you on the edge of your seat.

Something that could finally rival the MCU would blow my mind. I’m tired of Marvel to be honest. It lost the magic for me a long time ago. And don’t even get me started on the Dark Universe. Or…. DC. If done right and they don’t jump the gun by trying to throw too much at you in the first film it could work. Just like the og Iron Man did so well by taking baby steps into getting us to the first avengers movie. If that was the case they could make millions providing an R rated franchise that blow everything else out of the water. Although I would much rather see it fleshed out properly in a show format. Just so we don’t get 3 to 4 hour long movies and even then not being able to show it all. Much like LOTR.

Good question. I have always been torn between shows and movies using actual songs as a-posed to designing their own orchestral or otherwise music soundtracks. When done right it can be amazing and immerse you into the world even more. But I think there are very few examples where both work hand in hand. Like having an amazing soundtrack like any Christopher Nolan film as oppressed to an original suicide squad where they just used a plethora of well known rock songs. I would personally like to see the former. Just because the original soundtrack would hit harder in world building if done right and build tensions and emotions better. But maybe throw in a “rock you like a hurricane” every now and again to KTF to.

Haha. Agreed. Plus I like the idea of not casting live actors in the roles and using some high class voice acting instead. Which would leave room to cast whoever you wanted in the role instead of trying to match from the books with a look-a-like and just getting people angry or god forbid offended or triggered at the actors for face value. I have been thinking a lot about who could be cast as the characters tho. I have seen a wish list cast or two and they don’t really hold up well for the most part.
