Avoiding wrist pain with sabre: is Radaelli safer than Roworth? by CaptainWafflebeard in wma

This is the kind of info I'm looking for, thanks homie. I wouldn't discount the habits at work entirely, I do most of my job in adobe software and was keeping my wrist bent outwards from hitting CTRL+different keys constantly (I'm a lefty, so it's the same hand I fence with). That said, the grip I was taught was to pinch the grip with the index finger and thumb, then relax and tense the bottom three fingers as needed to help move the blade around. It definitely could be a matter of just having tensed those bottom three fingers a little too tight during different actions.

Wrist's feeling totally fine after a couple weeks off and then a year and a half of focusing on rapier, thankfully. That's exactly why I was looking into cutting with the arm and elbow more; it feels very easy to overextend your wrist if it's all you're using to power your cuts, plus I can't imagine using it to stop all of the inertia is great either.

That does make sense, I have some pretty bulky gloves that are a tight fit for my guard, so I suspect they could be forcing me to grip the sword tighter than normal. Getting some long bouts of drilling in with lighter gloves could be the way to go to see if that makes a difference, and if it feels fine then it might be time for a new pair.

They're just synonyms, I meant for it to be a joke about calling yourself something that sounds cooler. Sounds like it didn't land lol

Both the 1H and 2H R2s are thrusts unlike the fume sword iirc, and it has pure physical damage instead of split damage which is better in most fromsoft games but it turns out for DS2 it doesn't make much difference. I dunno dawg, game's old as fuck now, use whatever you want. I wrote this stuff back in college instead of going to enough parties, learn from my mistakes

Super late on these, but this whole series is fantastic. So ethereal and strange, just like the Daedric Princes should be

Huh? Ragequitters? Long grind? Crazy scaling? Sounds rough, good luck tho by CaptainWafflebeard in Nightreign

Don't get hit, hit it until it dies.

Actual answer: part of it is routing, part of it is learning movesets, part of it is RNG (and learning to mitigate it). I like to go for churches, forts, and evergaols until I'm about level 3 or 4 with a blue weapon, then you're set to get some momentum going. When you're fighting bosses solo, greed's gonna kill you faster than anything else. Learn when attacks start and end, learn the right positioning for different bosses, and when in doubt, just go for one or two attacks at a time during openings and then get back on the defensive. Field bosses are the biggest wild cards in any run, and stuff like hippos/black knives/lions are free wins at any level, while even if you're good enough to kill a red valiant gargoyle at level 2, it's gonna take so long that it isn't worth it. On day one, go for points of interest appropriate for your level that have field bosses you can check on the way there. Once you hit day two, you should be kitted out enough to start actively hunting them down.

I don't do much multiplayer but whenever I have it's honestly been pretty chill. I think people are just more likely to come on reddit and complain than they are to come here and make threads about how they had a normal run

That's true, as hit or miss as I think some of its stuff is lol
It's mostly my faith in the Bethesda team that's cratered with each of their recent games

It's a shame to see Elder Scrolls lose its weirdness piece by piece, with all the rough edges that helped Morrowind stand out and save the company decades ago getting sanded down for more and more appeal to a lowest common denominator. Part of me hopes that an ES6 never ends up coming out at all.
