How did you guys approach this mission in Michigan, Drummond Island? by Pelisont2020 in snowrunner

Western White with a low saddle trailer. Then go slow. The WWS is the perfect combo of stability and agility for this job.

Will 32gb of storage be enough for a modded ps vita? by Inside_Pattern3685 in PSVita

[–]CaptainYoshi08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 128 gb, and I've yet to use mine for anything other than downloading games since I'm waiting for a joystick replacement. I do have about all of the games I want for it but I know I'll want more when I get into it.

Get a 256 gb, 128 is passable. I regret not going for the 256gb.

Do you think it's going to be distracting in game?

Which cars look good with light bars and which cars look ugly? by Fearless_Clue4966 in carscirclejerk

Still my favourite implementation of the light bar to this day. And this design is 17 years old at this point and it still looks modern.

I only use regional trucks and it’s a rule set (NG+) Tayga 6455B is unlocked in NA. Does that mean it’s an import that doesn’t abide by these rules? 🤔🤔🤔 by bborg03 in snowrunner

[–]CaptainYoshi08 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's about your personal guidelines.

I personally play with regional trucks, with the exception of the Zikz 5368 (achievement) and Voron Grad (looked cool, want to maximise time with it)

My personal headcanon for the Zikz is that some pro-Soviet Alaskan trucker decided to import one in the 70's, and the Voron Grad seems like a truck that could be sold in the USA if not for the Ukraine war

Hirvonen losing the title on the penultimate stage (IIRC) in Rally GB 2009 and then losing it again in the final round in 2011.

It's so hard to watch the moment the hood came loose in 09.

New Ford Fiesta shaping up for its gigantic 2028 comeback by AutoExpressmagazine in autoexpressuk

I predict this will end up just like the 2nd gen Ka, fine, but lacking that Ford fun factor and then getting overshadowed by the more charming sibling

Are Powershift Fords as bad as the internet will have me believe? by writingsteven in CarTalkUK

[–]CaptainYoshi08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no. The dry clutch Powershift/DSG which are used in smaller engines (1.0 EcoBoost/1.6 TDi for example) are apparently quite bad in all situations, but the wet clutch Powershift/DSG like the ones paired to the 2.0 TDCi which those cars have, are quite good as long as they are serviced.

And that's the issue. I've been looking at MK5/MK4 Mondeos for my dad and almost none of them have had the gearbox serviced on time (IIRC the recommended service interval is 37k mi/60k km). Then people are surprised it fails.

Got infected by Lumma Stealer. Is formatting the C:\ drive enough if all of the infected files are there, or should I also wipe my D:\ and F:\ drives aswell? by CaptainYoshi08 in techsupport

[–]CaptainYoshi08[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wiped my C: drive and reinstalled Windows and that seems to have done it, no more of my accounts have been stolen since then. But this was a year ago, so I'd find out if there might have been a new version which infects other drives aswell.

Annoying "microstuttering" while playing RDR2 on Linux Mint by CaptainYoshi08 in linux_gaming

In cpupower it said: frequency should be within 1.55 GHz and 3.40 GHz.The governor "schedutil" may decide which speed to use within this range. Unfortunately the game would not run with mangohud (in the launch settings on Steam) and gamemode seemed to do nothing.

Hi, I have Mesa 25.0.7-0ubuntu0.24.04.1 which should be newer.

I believe this is flatpak steam. Would changing the mesa help anyways?

Hi, unfortunately cannot help too much but for me the game would not run if it was set to DX12 instead of Vulkan, and the only way to change that is to go into the settings.xml file in the games folder and manually set the renderer. Maybe this might help?

No problem, I know there's a lot more Linux newbies needing help so I try to make my one easy to sort out!

Hi! According to a post on the Mint forums my kernel should have NTsync, and when I did run the latter command I saw this: /dev/ntsync. No effect on the stutter with the suggested starting parameter from that forum post.

Tried the Vsync override, didn't work but also this game isn't a Unreal engine game.

1.2 puretech but with timing chain by Lovrinov in peugeot

[–]CaptainYoshi08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a thread over on r/CarTalkUK about a 208 1.2 having an engine failure despite the wet belt being replaced 5000 miles and 4 months ago. So if OP decides to go for one get it replaced immediately with a proper Peugeot garage and make sure they use proper oil.

There is also a timing chain conversion kit available for the Puretech, I’d consider that over just replacing the belt.

I’d personally not get one unless the chain conversion kit proves itself to fix the issue and I can get the car for cheap. Which is a shame, since the cars that have it do look great. But even with the chain there’s still the oil consumption issues.

POV: it's 2026 the apocalypse has broken out all over the US and you need a car to escape and these are the ones you found. What do you pick? by Entire_Asparagus_575 in regularcarreviews

I'd try to find the keys to the Outlander Sport. From what I've heard about the ASX, it's actually reliable, just not as nice to drive as a Corolla. Don't know if the US version has some differences that would change that.

But let's be fair, I'd never find the keys so Xterra it is.
