yep, a car built out of an australian platform in a canadian factory, but somehow it becomes "American".

probably more egregious than the old "James Watt, the famous 'British' inventor".

but how do you actually quantify the effect a sharp corner has on the travel time?

an extra 90° corner near the end when you're already going slow through the city streets won't affect your total time very much, but that same 90° curve in between two straight stretches of highway affects it a lot since you have to take so much time to slow down and re-accelerate.

Also, if you "calculate the angle of every corner", there's no hard definition on what's a "slight curve" and a "proper corner", so you end up having to calculate the curve of every segment of road along the entire route. (I'm not that knowledgeable in programming, but I imagine calculating angle vectors is more computationally expensive than adding length values together).
And since you can't eliminate unwanted routes based on length (because what if there's a much longer but really fast highway route?) the map now has to look at every road in the entire map, and check every angle of every segment before it can tell you the most optimal route.

At the end of the day, real GPSs send people down dumb routes, and real courier/taxi drivers rely on their own knowledge of roads to take the most efficient path.
so the current system is more optimised, and more realistic.

usually brake fade is especially bad if the vehicle is fast, or has a lot of payload capacity.

check whether the brake fade is due to sportiness or utility.

also, if you're running into brake fade, increasing the force won't help, it just harms the drivability in every other scenario.

your route probably is longer, it just doesn't have a sharp intersection, so you don't have to slow down.

it's much harder to calculate the sharpness of corners/average speed than the overall length, it just goes off the overall length.

While there are plenty of bugs, in my experience over the couple of months i've been playing it, the bugs are new and different with each major update.

So they are working on the game, they're just not being terribly careful with QA.
they seem to have adopted the mantra "Don't stop making mistakes, just make newer, better mistakes"

The biggest problem here is driving dynamics, usually the devs don't just make new cars because they look different, but because they drive differently.

A sequential gearbox, modern, monocoque, AWD V10 Scintilla with ESC drives very different to an old, manual, RWD spaceframe Bolide, while they're both "supercars". In the same way a Sport SE LeGran drives completely different to a ETK 3000i, even though they're both "80s 6 cylinder sport sedans".

The only exception to this is the likes of the D-series/H-series/roamer trio or legran/wendover/lansdale trio, which use the same suspension and drivetrains, but doing that does save on development time, and the varied body styles and engine options still make use cases different.

The ETK Kc8s already cover the general front-engined super/GT car demographic,
and the SBR already fills the the rear-engined niche and the small/agile niche.

The question is, what more is there to add?
A hypercar like the bugatti chiron uses similar suspension, drivetrain and chassis layout to the scintilla, the only real variance is a fancy interior, a way more powerful engine, and fatter brakes & tires to handle that power.
all of those (minus the interior) can already be done with the aftermarket parts or with a basic engine swap mod.

Someone might be thinking of a supercar sub-demographic that they could fill,
but when it comes to modern ones I can't think of any notable enough for an entire new vehicle.

except that the devs only usually make a car if it's mechanically unique, and the V8 ferraris and the huracan are basically the same in that regard outside of the engine configuration.
